Does what you need a food dryer to do.
Never mind that it looks like a piece of early 1980s stereo equipment; it is capacious, and dries food evenly. It has two adjustments - temperature, and drying time - what more do you need from a food dryer? I suspect it will outlive me, unlike my NESCO which lasted ~15 years before shorting out due to melted components. I would give it 4 stars if there were fruit roll inserts available for it, but alas, there are not. To compensate for this, I cut parchment sheets to size. The trays are slightly fussy to stack, but otherwise fine; unlike the NESCO, they have mesh liners that make it easy to remove the dried food, even if it is sticking to the liner slightly. I ?think? NESCO bought Open Country, so you may never be able to find one of these, but so far I like it a lot better than my old NECSO FD-60.
