Great Fire Pit
I really love this firepit! I bought my first one at COSTCO, but like a lot of products at COSTCO, you cannot find them again. Well, I bought another one for our 2nd home on Amazon. Some of my friends liked ours so much that they also ordered one. The only thing that would make it better is if it had a self starter. But I still love it.

Love it
This is perfect for just kicking it in the evening. Doesn't put out heat for warmth, but still nice!!

Fantastic!
Great size for 4-6 people to sit around comfortably. Heats you up and looks just like a real fire. My teenagers are loving this since we can’t have a fire pit in the area!

Outland Living Firebowl 883 Mega Outdoor Propane Gas Fire Pit - GREAT PURCHASE
We absolutely love this firepit! We love the convenience of being able to have a fire at anytime without worrying about firewood. We can have a fire in less than a minute with just the push of a button! We use this firepit at home and on our camping trips. The firepit puts out more heat than I expected. Great size for a party of people as well! The firepit comes very well packaged, and is very easy to assemble since all you have to do is place the lava rocks and connect the hose to your propane tank. My husband and I definitely recommend this firepit.

Perfect when you want a fire, but are not allowed to build a camp fire where fire danger is high.
This is the second one we have purchased, and this is for a Christmas gift. They are nice and large for creating a camp fire when you don't have the means to make a camp fire, or you're in an area where camp fires are not allowed due to fire danger/ these propane fire pits are generally allowed where camp fires are not allowed. (check in your local area to find out) We use ours for get togethers with friends when fires are not allowed in our mountains during fire season- these are allowed in our area, so it makes it perfect for us, and it makes a nice large fire. Also we take it to Az. when we head south for the winter, and we use this in our R.V. park where wood access is non existent. It makes a great fire where we can sit around in lawn chairs with a drink in hand and it is darn near as good as a fire. Very easy to light, and gives some source of heat- not much if your looking to have this to keep warm. It is more for looks, yet you can also roast hot dogs, and marshmellows if you want to use it for this. Easy to use in your yard as well. Hope this helps.

Just like a wood campfire without the smoke!
The media could not be loaded. As others have mentioned, I am a wood campfire kind of guy and in the past I would have never considered one of these. That being said, I was complaining to my buddy that I was certain that the county I hunt in would enact a burn ban just days before bow season was to begin. He raved about the Firebowl and said he was certain that I would appreciate it in place of a wood campfire. I was a bit skeptical but the thought of hunting and camping for 2-3 days without a campfire was depressing and took away some of excitement associated with opening weekend. I went ahead and pulled the trigger on the largest unit and it was delivered quickly and intact just two days before the season was to start. Sure enough, the county issued the burn ban that I feared so I was relieved that I had made my purchase. Reading the fine print on the burn ban, personal propane BBQ's were allowed. Between that and reading other reviews on how this gets around campfire bans in the mountains, I figured I was within the law. The first night of the hunt I started the Firebowl and just as my friend had said, the Firebowl produced a beautiful flame, provided heat for warmth and cooking dinner with no issues. I have run the unit on low for several hunts for a total of 6 hours or so with no noticeable weight change in my propane tank so it will be easy on the fuel I expect. Another big plus is there is no smoke which is a big deal to me being mindful of odors. And of course, when you turn it off, it's off and cools down quickly. I place my Firebowl in the fire ring normally reserved for a wood campfire as shown in the picture above. I probably won't go back to a wooden fire after this experience. I highly recommend the Firebowl.

Very nice unit....be careful how much you pay for it!
Have had this unit for a few weeks, assembly was simple, including conversion to NG. Initially flame looked more like my gas stove, very blue, not very aesthetically pleasing (see pics). While this is a very good combustion setup of air to fuel, I wanted the more orange/yellow look, similar to my 2 indoor gas fireplaces. Easy fix, just loosen screw and close air intake screen just behind control knob. This also reduces the sound of rushing gas. Note, this is for NG conversion only. It really is a good unit but doesn’t give off as much heat as you’d expect, so I’ve ordered a vertical patio heater to supplement. Dislikes: - cover looks great, fits well. It is NOT waterproof. We’ve had lot of rain in recent weeks and rocks became saturated. Can’t imagine this will be good when temperatures start to freeze. So an alternative is imperative. - Pricing! Originally saw this unit for $197. Discussed with family before buying, an hour later $214, which I payed. Couple days ago a friend said he’d be interested in buying one. I sent him info last night, listed at $185. This morning it’s $189? Called Amazon Prime cs, couldn’t wouldn’t do anything. I literally have to order lower price unit and return the higher price one. No cost to me. Makes no sense but I save $30 or 15+%. And someone will be out a lot of shipping $$$. And sadly I won’t even take the new one out of the box, just stick the return label and take it to PO. If Outland reaches out to me on this, I’ll be happy to revise this review. Stay tuned...

So awesome!
After a failed attempt to buy this through a reseller on Amazon, I finally got the Outland Mega Firebowl through Amazon Prime. Easy to set up, looks great, and throws off a lot of heat once the lava stones heat up! (around 20 mins) I read a review on here that said the Mega Firebowl only had 3 legs; that's false... it has 4 legs and it's very stable. All of their firebowls are 58,000 BTU's so it doesn't matter what one you buy, the same heat will be present at similar settings. I got it going on high heat to get the stones heated up and then we turned it down to past half way and it looked great and still provided ample warmth on a chilly October night! Extremely happy with the build quality and the brand overall, I highly recommend the Mega Firebowl if you're looking for their largest model!

and the description said "Condition Used - Very Good Item has minor cosmetic damage to top
Purchased the Outland Firebowl Mega from Amazon Warehouse for $134.99, and the description said "Condition Used - Very Good Item has minor cosmetic damage to top." The only damage was a tiny dent on one of the four feet of the firebowl, and the dent was so obscure that I had to point it out to my neighbor in direct sunlight for them to even see it. The firebowl comes very well packaged, and is very easy to assemble since all you have to do is place the lava rocks and connect the hose to your propane tank. I find even on the LOW setting, the flame is sufficiently high.....about 6-10 inches above the lava rocks, and the heat given off is enough to keep you warm sitting near it (all my deck seating is within 3-4 of the firebowl. There is NO heat under the firebowl....you can put your hand on the base and it is not even mildly warm.....thus why I have it on my deck. When you put the burner on the HIGH settings, the heat is searing hot and the flames are 12-15 inches in height.....to the point of being uncomfortable. I guess if you are sitting further away it, it wouldn't be a problem. I've already used the firebowl to roast marshmallows, and will soon attempt to roast hot dogs on sticks with it :) Very please with my purchase!

This fire pit seems to be the right size for a group of 4 or 5 but I have used it a few times and was a bit disappointed with the amount of heat it throws off while sitting close by. You have to be almost hovering over it to warm up. So if you prefer to stand instead of sit then this won't be an issue. The fire pit does use lots of propane when on the highest setting, I would estimate about 6 hours of use out of a full 20 lb tank. When you consider the cost of firewood at campgrounds, propane is still cheaper and cleaner. I will certainly get plenty of use out of this fire pit, especially during fire ban's, again I just wish you could feel the heat more while sitting around it. The overall construction of this product seems very good, and it's not heavy to move around.

perfect firepit size!
easy set up, and puts out really good heat with tall flames. it has directly in the wood deck, and the boards did not get hot. we have it raised now on a sturdy platform with a rock slab on top, just to be safe (although i would feel fine with it right on the wood) about a foot off the deck, which is ideal to enjoy the flames. it's honestly a good size (we got the mega), bigger than i expected for a portable pit- i was worried about that- so that was a nice surprise. easy to move around, and the cover is a great bonus. after the first couple fires and the burn-off, i've cooked hot dogs and such on it with no chemical taste. i'll be using it with a rack for cooking at times too. and best of all it looks way nicer than i expected.
