Dogs love to play so weve designed a fence that gives them more space to run! With standard in-ground fences, your dog gets a correction before he steps over the buried wire. But with our YardMax In-Ground Fence, your dog wont get a correction until after he steps over the buried wire, giving him the feeling that the correction area is infinite! With this fence youll get 500 ft of wire so you can fence in a 1/3-acre yard. If your yard is bigger, just purchase more wire to fence in up to 10 acres for your pet. Youll also get 1 YardMax Rechargeable In-Ground Fence Receiver Collar which has a tone-only mode and 5 levels of safe, static correction that you can adjust based on how your dog responds during training. With a little training, your dog will learn his new play area in just 2 weeks! If he ever tries to run through the boundary, the infinite correction area outside the boundary will help encourage your pet to turn and head back home. If you have more than 1 pet at home, purchase additional receiver collars so all of your pets can safely play in the yard together. Your pet deserves the best. Trust PetSafe to keep your pet healthy, safe and happy.

PET PROOF INSIDE AND OUT: The YardMax receiver collar works with the indoor and outdoor Pawz Away pet barriers to keep your pets out of the flower beds or off furniture. CONTAIN ALL YOUR PETS: With the purchase of additional collars, this in-ground fence system allows you to safely contain an unlimited number of pets. YARDMAX RECHARGEABLE RECEIVER COLLAR: System comes with 1 waterproof, rechargeable receiver collar that comfortably fits dogs 5 lb and up and adjusts to fit neck sizes 6-28 in. STATIC-FREE REENTRY: Allows your pet to return home without being corrected if your pet passes the boundary. 5 LEVELS OF STATIC CORRECTION: 5 levels of adjustable static correction and a tone-only mode help keep your dog safe and secure inside their safe play area. FITS MOST YARDS: This do-it-yourself weekend project lets you create an in-ground fence designed to fit your yard. 1/3 ACRE COVERAGE: 500 ft of included wire lets you contain up to 1/3-acre yard; purchase additional wire to contain up to 10-acres. MAXIMIZE YOUR YARD SPACE: In YardMax mode, your pet will have more room than traditional in-ground fences by receiving correction right at the boundary wire instead of before.

Life changing
This system works great and has changed our lives. I have a 10 month old 65lb lab/bully mix who cannot be trusted with the road in front of our house. He gets the zoomies and runs around our house at top speed or sees a squirrel or rabbit and totally loses his mind and bearings. I lost a dog years ago to being hit by a car and although our road is not busy I just couldn’t take the risk. After a lot of research I landed on this system. It’s fairly easy to DIY although some degree of handiness is required to run the wires. I found that the brush cutter attachment on my weed whacker turned sideways sliced a nice thin trench through the soil a few inches deep that I could stuff the wire into. There were a few places with rocks and roots that I had to work around by hand but all in all it was less than a full days work to get it up and running. I would strongly recommend taking the time to test all areas of the fence and get the transmitter dialed in before burying it, especially in yard safe mode. It’s finicky but it can be adjusted to work properly. My dog is kind of a wimp so he learned quickly. I never used the flags, since we live in the mountains our “yard” has a lot of other visual cues such as rocks and trees that I tried to run the wire near so he could learn his containment area naturally. I used a lot of positive reinforcement and he learned quickly that the warning beep means turns around. Only once did he try to run off and through the correction zone and realized that it doesn’t end, and came scampering/cowering back toward the house. I felt bad but I just distracted him by playing with him and getting him excited and he was fine 5 minutes later. He now has almost a full acre to run and roam and can be outside unattended for hours waiting on the deck for squirrels to chase. We are all so much happier. I would also recommend upgrading the wire, especially if you have a more rural “yard” like I do with rocks, stumps, roots etc. I ordered 1000 feet of extreme dog fence 14 gauge and 50 feet of extreme dog fence 14 gauge pre-twisted wire. It’s much more durable and the pre-twisted wire saved a lot of time. I’m still only around $300 all in which is a bargain. This training is also totally transferable to a field e-collar if you use one. Since the petsafe fence collar beeps when he crosses the wire, he learned that beeping is a warning sound and now I can take him other places off leash and use a sportdog field collar with a remote to keep him from wandering off. We go hiking and camping and all I do is beep the collar and he comes running back to me. Overall this has encouraged me to work with him and train him more, which seems to have made him more calm and obedient in general. I can’t express how much this has changed our lives for the better.

Golden!
This product has saved my sanity and greatly enhanced our Golden Retriever’s quality of life! No more “Houdini acts” from our dog Boomer since installing this system. Setup- The instructions are clear and thorough. I was able to set the system up within two days, covering over an acre of land. The hardest part of the setup was twisting the wires back to the house for a neutral line, but once using a power drill, it went quickly. I did buy extra wire and flags. We have a tight space around part of our home, but also a wide open space that stops at the tree line/ natural yard and the A setting works perfectly. I buried all the wire close to the house but waited for falling leaves to cover the most of spots near the tree/ brush line. Training- I took 2 days to train but I continued the training up for 3 more days just to be sure our dog understood his space. He was definitely timid for a couple of weeks and cautiously explored his new parameters before he was able to 100% enjoy his free time/ roaming. We played with him in the larger spaces to make sure he understood he wouldn’t get a beep or shock for fetching a ball within the flagged area. I kept the flags up for about two to three months, slowly removing them once I was certain our pup was familiar with his boundaries. Golden Retrievers are notoriously one of the more difficult breeds to contain with these sorts of systems. From experience, even with being out in the yard with him constantly, if my attention wasn’t 100% on him, our Golden would dart away in a second to visit neighbors. He was determined to spread his sunny personality with everyone he could before getting outted or frantic calling to come home. Collar Battery- The collar stays charged for an extremely long period of time. Our Golden isn’t testing the boundaries regularly so there isn’t extra strain on the device. The most he needs is a beep to move back to his safe space. Full disclosure- We do not leave our Golden outside when we are away, even for a quick outing. He is able to be trusted while we are at home to do his business and a solo stroll around the property. We do have to keep an eye out for him still, mainly because he’s become a hole digger. We have neighboring dogs that come into his parameter and play, but he stays in his designated area regardless. We also have children that use our yard as a path between neighborhoods and he is a “good boy” whether they give him attention or not. Customer service-We purchased this unit 9/12/21 and the collar stopped turning on but was still charging. I contacted customer service, spoke with a lovely representative, and a new device free of charge is being sent in the next 3 to 5 days. I don’t even think he will notice but for now he has a remote training collar on for a “just in case.”

Peace of mind that dog is safe on his own property and not wandering off into busy streets.
Was supposed to take two weeks of training for your dog; before the second day of training was completed, my puppy refused to cross the boundary line. Quick learner of a great product. My dog doesn’t want to go near the boundary line. Much cheaper and easier to install than a wooden or chain link fence. Collar doesn’t even need to be worn at all times...the boundary is now known...but good to know it works.

easy to install and train your dog!
Installed it around a 1 acre garden. Digging in the wire was easier than expected since it doesn't have to go deep. Did it manual with a straight shovel. Once installed, testing was easy and it turned out to be much more reliable than the wireless version that i tried before. There is about 3-4meter height difference in my garden so that may be the reason I had to send the wireless version back and installed the in-ground one. Our dog was quick to learn and understand the boundaries and following the recommended training schedule, I was able to let her off leash in 2 weeks of training (supervised). Even with big distractions like seeing neighbour walking her dog or throwing her favourite toy over the border, she stays within the boundaries. Use a long leash to grow confidence in the system and your dog. For those wondering if your dog suffers from the stimulation (getting zapped): our dog (mini australian shepherd / border collie mix) with short fur yelped once at the lowest stimulation level and got zapped once maybe twice only after which she understood the boundaries. Not worse than when someone steps on her paws by accident. Beats getting hit by a car in my book!

I just love my petsafe Yardmax system
I just love my petsafe Yardmax system. I love the fact that I can let my dog play outside with the kids without being constantly watching if he's going on my neighbor's half grass (we live in a semi-detached house). It took so little time to train our dog and we now only put him his collar every once in a while. The only con would be that since we installed it 4 months ago the collar started to shock our dog twice for absolutely nothing (dog was inside the house).

Would never own a dog without it.
More than half the price of the main unit "GULP". Replaced because I lost the first one, a few months after getting, the battery died which is disappointing but PetSafe was fantastic about the return, super courteous and good to deal with. I would not own a dog without this system again. Some think it's inhumane, but getting hit by a car is MUCH worse and usually deadly. The odd zap is OK by me, I've gone through the loss of a friend.
