Didn’t work for me - but there was a reason
I purchase several different sizes of the Pig water barriers back in March just in case my pool flooded. I had the opportunity to use them during Hurricane Ian. They are a waste is time and money. They don’t expand much at all and in order to get any real benefit you would have to buy 10 or 15 of them and stack them. Filling sandbags with the county is free and it was the sandbags that kept the water out of the house - not these things. I will be returning ALL of the extra ones I bought in preparation for the next tropical storm. Update from 10/28/22: I changed my rating from 1 to 4 because the customer service responding to my review was great. I received a letter in the mail with apologies from an agent of the company. He told me that although it doesn’t say it on the website, the water barriers don’t really work with the chemicals in pool water which is why mine didn’t work. They gave me a gift card to cover my costs as well as some other options that might work better. I have not purchased any additional products but I might. My assumption is that they will update their description to include that it does not work with the chemicals that may be found in pool water.

these work. 'nuff said.
Expensive, but if you need to block water, these are the best out of the *many* products I've tried (i.e., you get what you pay for). I have a garage door that open slightly below ground level (basically, it opens into my basement). Fine, except when we get major rains, a fair bit of water collects and tries to enter my basement under the garage door. I put a couple of these (the 10' ones) in front of the garage door (and on inside the door on the basement side), and...problem solved. They are not re-usable, but I've had the same 'expanded' ones in front of my garage door for ~6-7 months, and they're still as functional as they were when new.

Super idea
Hope I don't need them this hurricane season coming up but they look like they will be better than sand bags

Wow! This works great!
I decided to switch my patio doors from opening outside to opening inside so I could put up a screen and it has been leaky ever since. I didn’t realize this until Ian hit so when we got word Nicole was going to bring lots of the same I bought these in hope the trickle of water would not ruin our rug and use all of our towels like last time lol. And boy did it work! I was skeptical at first because they are so light and look like there is nothing in them but I put two in front of the doors and when I woke up they were swelled up and the floor around was dry as can be. They can hold prob double the amount that they took during this storm. I put some sand bags outside which helped maybe a little but this is what did the trick to keep our house dry. This is a more expensive option than sandbags (which are usually free from the county) but if you know beforehand that windy rains wreak havoc on your doors… just make the investment. I don’t know how they figured out such a cool and clean way to keep water out of your house but bravo. Also this does not work on pool water or ocean water just rain water.

Saved my garage! PIG Home Solutions Water Barrier - Sandless Sandbags for Flooding
Our garage had been flooded several times each winter, so I bought these "Rain Sausages" (PIG Home Solutions Water Barrier - Sandless Sandbags for Flooding) that are very light and easy to handle before they fill up with water. They kept the garage dry in famously rainy Oregon. I use this garage for storage and didn't have to drive in. Someone drove over them with a truck when delivering something, and that was the end of the one "sausage", so don't try to drive over them!

Works well to keep extra water out of garage
Sometimes I have extra water that comes into the garage with a heavy downpour. These work great to keep the water out. It does take some time for the water to evaporate out of the bags, but that is to be expected.
