I had an drive shaft to pull out of a front-wheel drive car couldn't get the job do with the other slide pullers I rented or borrowed. Broke down and bought this puller, one slide of the hammer and the drive shaft poped out of the transaxle with the 2-1/2 pound hammer. If I had installed the 5 pound hammer I bought to go with it the drive shaft probably would have gone across the garage and through the garage wall . Didn't have to fool around trying to get the jaws to stay in place it is worth every penny you'll pay. I messed for three days trying to get the drive shaft out and with this puller I spent 2 minutes installing the puller and 3 seconds sliding the hammer and 10 minuts wondering why I hadn't bought this set up years ago.
