Installation and replacement is fast and easy. The spring steel locking clip included with this mailbox lock can insert onto cylinder housing in one of two slotted openings. The face of this lock comes in a bright nickel-plated finish. This lock replaces mailbox locks. Key will not remove in unlocked position which prevents user from forgetting to lock mailbox. This is multi-purpose mailbox lock replaces original locks provided by various manufacturers.

It locks,it unlocks....

My mailbox lock finally locked-up.....became useless. I spotted this after an Amazon search. on a whim. Inexpensive, simple to install...a very good replacement. (It did require the use of the pre-existing "latch") as those included, were not useful...(too short for the application)....oh, two keys were provided, another plus.

great product for the price

Service was impeccable. The only negative is the needed oil to make the lock work smoothly. Would be nice to get 3 keys instead of 2.

Glad I opted to do this myself!

Locksmith was going to charge me a minimum of $50 to replace the mailbox lock at my corporate apartment and this $6.66 replacement took all of 5 minutes to install (have never replaced a mailbox lock before). Fits perfectly and works great!

barely useble-looks like it will last a month or two. Yet another example of outsourcing-the lock it is replacing is at least 15 years old-currently unavailable anywhere. I'm still searching.
