Create a watertight connection in your drip system tubing with the 5/8 in. Compression Coupling. Use the coupler to join two sections of 5/8 in. supply tubing or dripline together. To install, insert the end of the tubing into the compression ring where an internal barb compresses the tube with a firm grip, and repeat on the other end of the fitting. Durable and weather resistant, the compression fitting is made of acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) treated with UV inhibitors to prevent cracking. Drip irrigation systems are easy to customize, install, and operate. As part of a complete system, drip fittings are connectors that attach sections of tubing together or to other drip irrigation parts. Drip irrigation gradually and evenly waters the root zone of your plants, keeping it moist but never saturated with water. Your plants maintain the ideal balance between water and air for optimal growth and overall health. Raindrip is a leading manufacturer of drip and micro-irrigation solutions and the trusted brand of landscapers since 1972. Build, expand, or repair your system with our rigorously tested products designed to save you time and money.

It works
I accidently damaged the underground tubing when I tried to install an anchor to the tree. The coupler arrived pretty quickly. I followed the video from the web and installed the coupler by cutting off the damaged section. Maybe it's because of the rain, the wet surface making the installation of the coupler easier than I thought. In less than 5 minutes the job was done (before my wife even found out). The cost of the coupler is higher even if you calculate it by unit. But this is the only one that fits the 5/8" tube. Bottom line, a good product but slightly pricier than others.

What I needed. Wish it had been available locally, but it fixed the problem when it came.
We have low water landscaping in front. The small drip tubing is fed by 5/8ths tubing. Someone ran a knife through the tubing, and there's not enough black tape in the world to fix that leak. I had to try, for my wife's peace of mind. The landscaping, et.al. was put in by a contractor, who we couldn't contact, and the local hardware stores didn't stock it. It was available mail order through them, but shipping was outrageous. The price, each, for these is twice what the hardware store wanted online, but the price also included shipping. It came at least as soon as promised. (The pack of two). I only needed one, and have saved the other. The fitting has a sharp ridge, angled inward on each end, so once the fitting is on the tubing, it isn't coming off easily. It didn't go on easily, either, but that meant no leakage, and the fitting would stay on the hose. It's been on the hose for about a month, and no leaks nor drips.

Not for true 5/8" O.D. Tubing
This coupling is for .700 O.D. tubing. 5/8" O.D. is .625 diameter and requires a coupling that is labeled for Raindrip 1/2" tubing. The coupling won't seal on 5/8" O.D. tubing. Yes, the information is in the description, but the manufacturer's labeling is misleading.

Works
Don’t hoe near irrigation lines buried too shallow.

Good Quality
Fits my drip irrigation lines and has held up to lines being pulled and reset and repairs.

Works well
I agree with another person who posted - these are a bit pricey for what they are. Gets the job done though.

Perfect fix for damaged drip irrigation line
These couplings worked great for fixing a broken hose. They fit very snugly and perfectly around the 5/8" irrigation lines I have, and do not leak at all. The installation took a minute or less.
