Recommended by speach therapy to avoid choking
Helps some because it limits the amount of fluid at one time. Just wish anything to do with special needs/health care didn't cost so much

How much water does the cup hold? It holds about 8oz.
I bought this cup on a doctor’s advice for my mother in-law because she has started to aspirate on liquids almost every time she sips her tea or water. The doctors said that she needs a cup that limits her sips volume to not more than 5ml. I always do my research before buying any product. I’d read reviews that the cup holds very little, only about an ounce of liquid. Then I checked the cup’s website, watched their videos, red the instructions and only then I bought the cup. My conclusion is: - The cup holds 250ml (8 oz) of liquid; - Those who say it holds an ounce didn’t watch videos and instructions; - A liquid should be filled into correct part of the cup: the upper part and NOT in the lower part as shown on the video. - It delivers new portions in the matter of 2-3 seconds, one after another, about 40 sips per refill, if you use 5ml scale. - The cup works for my mother-in-law, we can see that her aspiration moments become very rare.

Not much room for Liquid
The cup is great overall. If the person using it doesn’t drink a lot of liquid at a setting. It’s needs a bigger holder for the liquid. Other than that it’s fantastic.

I wouldn’t recommend this cup
I bought this cup for my wife who has swallowing problems. It worked fine at first but started leaking after about two months. I expected more for the high cost.
