The Road Refresher is the next generation of the spill-proof dog bowl for home and travel. Unlike other popular style bowls such as stainless steel metal dog bowls, weighted bowls, dog fountain water bowls, and extra heavy dog water bowls, the Road Refresher is lightweight yet durable, steady, and efficient with its purposeful design, easy to fill, clean and take on the go as needed. The Extra-Large bowl neatly holds up to 47 liquid ounces, while the Small bowl holds just over 20 liquid ounces. This provides plenty of fresh clean water for large and medium dogs, messy drinkers, excited puppies and even curious cats while eliminating spills caused by movement of both pet and/or surrounding as well as overzealous drinking. The Road Refresher dog waterer bowl supplies a continual amount of water up through the floating plate for your pet to access easily, yet immediately restricts the flow whenever there is a surge of water from cornering, braking, kicking and so on. Rather than gulping water and air, your pet licks up water as needed and keeps water drips minimal to facial hair, beard, jowls and fur as submerging their facial area is not needed to satisfy thirst. Making this the perfect bowl for dogs with long ears and snouts! Included are optional velcro feet fasteners, intended for high movement adventures with your best friend such as travel, RV life, boating, camping and outdoor activities. This provides even more no-spill, no tip security, making this slow water feeder for dogs a must-have and the best outdoor dog water bowl. Keep your pet’s water in the bowl so they can stay happy and hydrated with fresh clean water.

Works as advertised
I've got three dogs drinking out of this - a husky and two Springers. The youngest Springer leaves a trail of water as she leaves just about every other bowl I've tried, and her ears are constantly wet. Not now. Yeah, some people have problematic dogs that go out of their way to overcome the preventive features of any bowl, but if your dog isn't a problem child this should do the trick quite nicely. I just wish it came in an even larger size. Update after a bit of use: I took one star off of my evaluation due to a design issue where the floating disc gets stuck because of the tight tolerances between it and the bowl. When the dogs are drinking out of it, it drops just fine - but to refill it, you pretty much HAVE to take the ring off, use two fingers to fish the float out, then refill the bowl and refit the parts (as opposed to, say, simply pouring water in the top and watching the float... well, float). I can hear it already: "But you SHOULD pull it apart at refill time to clean it!" and yes, in theory that's correct. However, three large dogs drinking out of this means I'm depleting the water so quickly that it needs refilling about four times before it needs cleaning. I'll reiterate that I wish this came in a 1-gallon size. I also bought a competing design (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BHY3X8TC) which doesn't suffer from the float problem (it's a fully-sealed float with probably 3/8" clearance all around) and holds 1.1 gallons. Works a treat, however something about the design means the dogs are trailing more water away from it than with the Road Refresher. You CAN easily refill it by pouring water directly into it. If I could find a way to merge these two designs life would be nearly perfect.

It Works!
I read reviews. Hesitant to buy due to the confusion surrounding the styrofoam ring, difficulty separating the top bowl ring from the bowl, and the function of the floating unit that controls water level. Relented and bought this bowl. IT WORKS AS DESCRIBED AND REALLY CONTROLS WATER TRAILS! Unpackaged the bowl. Examined the styrofoam ring. Obviously not a functional seal as the two ends do not even meet. Took advice of another reviewer and threw it away. Undertook practice, before putting into use, separating the top black ring from the bowl unit. No problem. Set bowl (empty of course) in vertical position, resting on the bottom edge of the water bowl. put my hand into the bowl, hooked fingers up under the ring to spot where ring and bowl come together. Pressed down with thumb of my hand on outer top edge of ring, while applying pressure to lift using the fingers underneath, to separate ring from bowl. It snapped loose. Cleaning is a breeze once taken apart. Have learned there is less "pink" bacteria build up in the standing water in this bowl than was in the open bowls I previously used. I find cleaning once every4-5 days is very sufficient. One does have to watch the available water level to keep sufficient water available for pet. You will quickly master the observation skill related to the amount of water available. My dog is a big drinker so I have to fill more often because he does not have an open bowl with more than a pint always standing available. It is now a habit for me to add water after having used this for almost 3 weeks. I introduced the bowl by putting normal "max" fill in it and sitting it beside dog's regular bowl. For half a day he just looked at it, but when I let his old bowl run low, he simply switched over with no hesitation. Left old bowl near for 2 days, then removed it. He drinks normally from his new bowl with no change in drinking behavior. No more mopping up water slop 3-4x a day or more! Seldom is there any water drooled, even on his new silicone feed/water mat. This bowl is GREAT and I recommend it reminding buyer there is a slight learning curve to use it without "making problems for yourself." Snapping the upper ring off takes practice for a quick, easy separation, but it does come. Refilling water more often takes attention, but quickly becomes habit and is rewarded by no wiping up tasks. I would not recommend this bowl for an outside dog as on a hot day, or if dog Is a heavy drinker, it is conceivable he would take the available water level below the level where he can get a good drink. For a small outside dog, or light drinker it will not be an issue. And after all, water slop outside is not the cleanup issue it is for an inside pet. The only other matter to pay attention to is that of not adding too much water. There is a fill "max" line on inside of bowl but I do not find it visible, while just looking down on the bowl. I have learned to gauge the "top off" quantity based upon the low water level. I use a plastic container that I have established as being big enough for a "nearly empty" top off amount, while also able to transfer a small "top off". You learn, by eye, the needed amount. If you keep adding and the water accumulates to beyond the max line, the inner plate will begin to float upward and your dog gets confused by its new position. You can tell looking at it that It has floated upward. This bowl works and can really reduce or eliminate the towel wipe-ups from your best friend's sloppy drinking. In 3 weeks I have only had to do a wipe up twice, and I attribute that to his coming inside, after play, and wanting a really big hurried drink.

Very easy to use and keeps water in the bowl.
Confession! I did not buy this for RVing. I bought it because I was tired of cleaning up water after the dogs drank out of a large ceramic bowl. It is much lighter than the ceramic and holds plenty of water for a Toy and a Mini Poodle. I change and clean the bowl every day and there is still a good amount of water in it. Very happy with the fact that there is almost no water to clean up.

Works very well.
We have a very sloppy water drinker and this bowl has definitley helped reduce that problem. Doesn't completely cure the problem, but cuts down on the mess drastically. The only downside is that it doesn't hold as much water as I was hoping it would.

Works well, but my dogs have chewed it up a bit
I've tried a few water bowls. I have two large breed puppies and they tend to make a huge mess at the water bowl. Sometimes it's just them being messy, sometimes it is them tipping it over. This has by far been the best I have found. The only issue I have is with the two of them it doesn't hold as much water as I'd like. That said, I am able to fill it all the way up, well past the max fill line and it still seems to work fine at keeping the water in the bowl. They are both chewers and have managed to chew this up a bit but not to the point that it doesn't work. I've had other bowls that they completely ruined with in days. I've had this now for a couple months and they have only been able to do minimal damage.

Time consuming to refill
It works well and doesn’t spill. It isn’t difficult to refill but requires disassembly each time, which becomes time consuming and monotonous.

Just doesn’t do what it states. Waste of money.
The photo says it all, useless at stopping dogs spilling water. Our spaniel is a messy drinker, drippy lips and floppy ears are the biggest problem. This new bowl was supposed to help elevate some of this. As you can see from the photo he’s managed to get water up the wall! The 1 star was for him not being able to dangle his ears in the bowl.

Well that was a waste of money!
The media could not be loaded. Non spill?? Not for a 5mth Irish setter. She just pushes her nose to the bottom so the ‘floating’ section sinks then she’s free to scoop the water out with her feet as before. Takes her a little longer with this bowl than others but she still empties it if left on her own. Best get the mop out again ????.

Non spill dog bowl
We bought this non spill dog water bowl for our 2 cats who were a) tipping the water out of their bowl, b) drinking it all so fast my second job became filling it up for them and c) the damn cat bowls are all so shallow every time I tried to move their original bowl to fill it up the water would be everywhere. This product solves all 3 issues. Some of the reviews negatively mention how this bowl doesn’t stop the animal spilling water from themselves onto the floor… not sure how a bowl would do this? We’ve experienced no such calamity with our friendly felines. Some reviews mention how it doesn’t stop the water spilling… I wonder if they are trying to use it during an earthquake?! The bowl does an excellent job under normal circumstances. The bowl comes with this strange insert bit which floats - we found that unnecessary. The thick rubbery rimjob they’ve applied means the water can’t easily slosh over the top (a bit like sea defences you get at the seaside)… it all comes apart so it’s easy to clean, and it has some little recesses on the sides so you can easily pick it up. I’m not sure how they could make the bowl any better. (Apart from addressing the poor performance during earthquakes). (And including small bibs for dogs to wear when drinking from it.) Definitely buy it, if you live in a low earthquake risk area and have a normal dog (or cat) you won’t be disappointed.

Dramatically reduce splashing and spills at the water bowl
My dog, love her that I do, can be a real tinker at times. Not least when she’s drinking from her water bowl. She is at her happiest when she’s splashing the contents across the kitchen floor and then paddling it throughout the house. Bless her. The Road Refresher non-spill bowl drastically reduces this behaviour. What you’ll receive is a bowl of three-part construction. The reservoir is a stand plastic bowl holding a good volume of water. You fill to the marked max line, and then place a floating plastic top inside the bowl. This sits on the surface of the water with a few holes in the middle through which the water seeps through. It allows enough water for your dog to comfortably drink from, and reduces their ability to splash around in the bowl. A third piece of black plastic snaps over the top to form a rim preventing the floating piece from being removed and also further reducing splashing. In operation the bowl works exceptionally well. It doesn’t entirely eliminate water around the bowl as the dog can still put a paw in and paddle it around, but it significantly reduces the volume of water. The bowl is sturdy and comes with Velcro pads underneath which reduces it being dragged around by demanding dogs. Such is the capabilities of this bowl I also have on that I keep on the back seat of the car where our dog travels. Even with the rake of the seat squab it doesn’t allow over-spilling. If I have a criticism, I would say that the black rim/lid can be difficult to remove, although it is freeing up with continued use, but this is only a minor issue with an otherwise excellent and problem-solving product.

Non-spill water bowl -no, it doesn’t.
Great product for back of the car and certainly wouldn’t tip over as the base is weighted and solid. The system of water replacement as the dog drinks is very clever and it’s as easy to fill as any ordinary bowl. The downside is the almost impossibility of removing the ring around the top of the bowl in order to clean it! It takes some serious strength to lever it or pull it off and anyone with arthritic or weak hands wouldn’t be able to manage it at all. I have rheumatoid arthritis and I can’t clean this bowl without asking for help! Other than that a very good non-spill bowl and essential for car journeys long or short with a lively, thirsty dog.
