Shaft too short
Unfortunately I spent a lot of money on a slot cutter which simply was not long enough. To achieve any sort of slot in the wood I was working I was only able to clamp down 1/4 inch on the shaft with the collet on my router/table combination. I simply could go no further with the depth adjustment on my router/table to get the shaft further in the collet. So, as is, I gave it a shot while covering it up with a wooden box I had available. Within two seconds of spinning the cutter jumped out of the router. In the process gouging a nice hold in my box. Can you say dangerous? Look I will be the very first to admit I am not in any way an expert or perhaps even a beginner wood worker but another 1/4 on the shaft would have made working with this cutter at least feasible. Useless to me.
