Sleek design
Due to the limited space in the guest room of my house, I was looking around to find a good option to have a queen size bed, until I got familiar with the Murphy bed. As a beginner, who liked to create-a-bed kit, I can say that the hardware is well made, with a much sleek design. The instructions are basically foolproof with detailed plans and clear drawings, explanations for every step, and a simple cut list to follow. And the great thing is the demo video which answers most questions that may not be too clear for beginners such as myself. For sure, my carpentry skills were required to cut the right sizes and create shapes for developing this project and the assistance of a helper for some holding/alignment of large pieces was required. If you have the exact dimensions of all pieces and paying close attention to the steps of the assembly, you will not encounter any difficulty during this project.

Quality hardware, good instruction
I’ve been thinking about adding a murphy bed in one room for extra guest space but I didn’t want to have a bed taking up the space full-time when only occasionally used. The sleek black finish of the hardware is one we like and will fit our space well. Instructions look relatively simple but be prepared, it is a bit of a construction project to cut the selected board to the correct size and for proper assembly. While not difficult, if you don’t have experience in woodwork or construction, you may face more of a challenge. It is a do-it-yourself project so expect to spend a little time in assembly but you can customize the type of wood to what you want. The hydraulic arms and other hardware look like they should hold up.

Easy to set up, surprised at small box
This past weekend I set up the Murphy bed for a queen mattress I had just sitting on the floor. For whatever reason, I was surprised that the box was pretty small (is the first Murphy bed set I’ve ordered and I figured a large box was going to be delivered to my doorstep). Only thing I needed to do afterwards was go to Lowe’s to pick up some wood slats but besides that, solid!

Exactly what I needed!
This hardware kit was exactly what I needed to build a sturdy and good looking Murphy bed for my basement! All I needed was this kit plus several sheets of quality plywood and some trim. The best part about this is that it comes with guides that you lay on the wood to align your drill holes. Makes everything super simple!

Can’t get it to work
Instructions are terrible. Gas struts are too stuff. Injured while trying to pull the bed down once the struts were installed. Stay away.

Takes time and patience, but not overly difficult
I am not very handy so this took more time than it probably would take most people. That said, I love how it turned out. THIS IS HARDWARE ONLY, the end product will vary depending on how nice of materials you get. Now being done with this project and knowing what it takes to make it, if I could go back I would do this again. Super fun project and hardware parts are quality.

DIY products
I am a DIY enthusiast, I saw this product, I think this is a new challenge, I bought the board in Home Depot, using the table saw in accordance with the instructions for cutting, this is not difficult for me, the point is that when the bed and hardware assembly, be sure to read the instructions carefully or watch the installation video inside once, because there are some details, if errors occur, may allow you to return to the previous step. It took me a weekend to complete the assembly of this bed, not too difficult a job

Wonderful DIY kit
One of the best serious DIY kits I’ve ever got my hand on. It’s a project that I had planned for my study room. The queen bed doesn’t take too much space and comes convenient when I have too many guests in the house. The hardwares are made solid of alloy steel. The video instructions provided by the seller are clear and helpful. If you have any questions, the seller is very happy to help.
