This works great if you use the right kind of paint

I read all the reviews and was really confused about what type of paint would work in this tool. I tried all different types and this is what works: you must use inverted marking paint - see pictures. This type of spray paint has a nozzle that pushes to the side to activate and works perfectly in this device. Other types of spray paint will NOT work. They do not have the right kind of nozzle. Inverted striping paint will NOT work - again the wrong type of nozzle. I would give the tool itself 5 stars but downgraded to 4 stars because the description of this tool mentions striping paint which is incorrect. I plan to use this tool to mark my firewood for proper length for cutting and I think it will work great. Just need to use the right spray paint - INVERTED MARKING PAINT.

Works with a variety of marking paint manufacturers cans

Straight forward can holder, just slide the can in, remove protective cap and start marking.

Works great and sprays well.

I would use this more spray like trees and brush then for spraying a boarder or line. THIS IS ONLY FOR MARKING PAINT AND NO OTHER PRODUCT.

RUST-OLEUM 210188 Rust-Ileum 12-Inch Paint Marking Pistol

The marking pistol is just perfect for hand painting over templates in my parking lot. It uses the same paint can as my line making machine so I do not have to buy different types of spray cans. Best of all I do not have to get onto my knees to use it. Slightly bent at the waist and the paint nozzle is just the right distance to paint. I am 62 and this is definitely a back saver.

not for striping paint!

Bought for a very small striping project along with the Rust-Oleum inverted striping paint here on Amazon. Definitely is not a compatible match. This gun would press the paint can tip to the side instead of towards the can body as the inverted striping paint can needs. Not sure what this would be for. Procrastinated on the project beyond return window so it's unfortunately useless. TOFTT -- learn from our mistakes!

Does Not Work w/Inverted Cans

I should have listened to Jeff. The gun DOES NOT work with the inverted paint cans as is advertised in the bullet points.

"Not" For Striping paint as indicated!!

Probably great for "Marking" paint but it "Will Not" work with the inverted striping paint cans as indicated in the bullet list!!

NOT FOR "STRIPING" Paint! (Pushes nozzle SIDEWAYS)

"Marking" paint and "Striping" Paint can nozzles work DIFFERENTLY! "Striping" paint can nozzles -the "T-Shaped" ones - must be depressed STRAIGHT INTO ("toward") the can. These 'guns' depress the nozzle SIDEWAYS, and are ONLY for "Marking" Paint. If ANYONE ever finds a correct hand 'gun' for STRIPING paint, (ie that pushes the nozzle STRAIGHT "toward" or "into" thecan,) PLEASE let me know! I have NOT found one on Amazon, or anywhere else.
