Only fits smaller plates/bowls

We have several of these to help my disabled husband with his eating. Unfortunately they will only fit on the bowls we have or smaller plates... not 9 inch plates. I tried other ones but they didn't stay on, so to the credit of these...they do stay put while he is eating.

Mom really liked that it was easily portable for eating with family ...

I purchased this for my Dad who has Parkinson's. Mom really liked that it was easily portable for eating with family at their house, or to a restaurant. Dad said it made it easier for him to get the food on the utensil. MUCH less food ended up falling on the table or onto Dad's lap. It is sturdy, easy to use and easy to clean. It will not fit on a very large dinner plate but that hasn't been an issue.

Great until it breaks!

This is my second guard after the first one broke, which I thought was a fluke. The product info says it fits 8.5" - 10" plates. However, it's too rigid and is only 7in in width itself. Because it's not very flexible, it breaks in half! My second one is cracked and will probably break on the next use. :(

Not universal

It does not fit every plate. The plate I'm using this on has a decorative edge not a fully rounded edge. There is a very small curved sections of the plate and it's very hard to fit the guard on it. Last night as I was making my patient dinner, the guard just randomly flipped off and food went flying everywhere. Thankfully I had not put the plate in front of her. I am leary that it will break. It's very strong and I have to pull to fit it on the plate. Added: January 29, this lasted less then 4 months. I will add the size of the plate is 9 1/2". About a 7 items the guard flipped off throwing food everywhere. Waste of money.

Very Stiff Plastic

It is quite stiff and difficult to snap on and off some plates, hoping it will get more flexible with use. These work nicely for patients who have difficulty getting food from the plates to their mouths because they can see through the clear plastic, other plates with lips don't have that.

Needs to be flexible to 12” plate

This was fine for a smaller plate; it broke when I tried to put it on a 12 inch plate.
