Just what I needed, but know your local building codes

This lock is exactly what I wanted, appears to be manufactured by Schlage. It is high quality and functions perfectly. It arrived in a small thin cardboard box that had busted open in the flimsy plastic bag it was shipped in, but did not get damaged. All the parts were there. It looked like it might be from a locksmith's inventory or something, not encased in hard plastic like you might find in stores for consumers. If you install a lock like this, be sure to keep a key hidden nearby (and inform everyone in your home) in case emergency exit is needed due to fire, etc.

Manufacturing flaw

The directions to install this deadbolt were difficult to understand and gave no reason for some of the instructions. (For example 'DO NOT USE KEY' WHY would there be a direction to not use a key when installing a deadbolt?) After installing/re-installing FIVE times I was never able to get the key to not remain stuck in the lock. After much frustration and two calls to the support line (manufacturer is closed - which I understand probably due to pandemic) I finally had to call a locksmith so I could actually have a lock that worked on my house. He was excellent - took the brand new deadbolt apart and found that the tailpiece was slanted on the pin (an obvious manufacturing flaw and hopefully a fluke). I was charged $75 to fix a brand new $60 lock. Very disappointed. I would like the manufacturer to contact me to discuss a credit, but there appears to be no way to do that. Unfortunate.

Worked great on my door. It was very east to install especially since I was replacing one that was already there.

This product does NOT have securekey technology!!!

I ordered this product to go on a back door to my home that has windows in it. The two important features were the double-cylinder deadbolt (which you can find in all kinds of locks to prevent smashing out a window and turning the bolt by hand) and the securekey technology so that I could quickly key it to my home's other locks (and change the locks in a matter of minutes if I ever need to). The description for this product IS NOT CORRECT. This lock does not have the securekey feature (no plus sign on the lock face, no blue key in the packaging, nothing). This is incorrectly listed and I will be returning the lock shortly.
