Constructed of enhanced carbon steel square tubing, the SEGAL S 4752 is a fixed window guard that comes in a painted white finish. Once installed, the fixed window guard cannot be opened or easily removed, so take care to place the SEGAL S 4752 in a safe and accessible location. THIS FIXED WINDOW GUARD SHOULD NOT BE USED IN BEDROOMS OR SLEEPING QUARTERS WHERE NO OTHER EMERGENCY EXIT WINDOW OR DOOR IS ACCESSIBLE. For windows requiring emergency access capabilities, please use the appropriate hinged version of these window guards, such as Prime-Line’s model S-4779. This preventative child fall window guard is non-operational and designed for interior use only. The intended purpose of this guard is to assist in stopping children from accidental falls through open windows. The SEGAL S 4752 features a fully adjustable telescoping width (prior to mounting), and comes compete with one-way, tamper-resistant installation screws. This child fall window guard meets New York City and New Jersey’s housing codes and was approved by the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, HDWG #04-09-2010, but it does not meet egress. FROM THE MANUFACTURER This window guard is constructed of .048 thick, plain carbon steel square tubing and comes in a white painted finish. Note: This is a “fixed window guard,” meaning that once it’s been installed it cannot be opened nor easily removed in the event of an emergency where entry or exit through the window would be required. Looks like it will do the job

Didn't like my garage window unprotected, so I slapped this little beauty up. It is not as big as my window, but it will keep my tool chest from being a smash and grab (or drag).

Sturdy and simple

Good quality feel. We put these over our garage windows as added security Can’t be too careful these days. Easy to install. I would suggest throwing away the screws that came with it and using some aggressive longer wood screws. I know the Un-reversible screws are meant for outside installation but they’re weak and a real pain to use. Do yourself a favor and install them on the inner window frame, screwing into the sides rather than straight on. It’ll be much stronger that way.

i don't do a lot of reviews but since this can help the kids i will do one, my little boy got out the back window a few days ago think god i have a full 6 foot fence but with in 5 minutes i noticed him and now im into safety mode,i was thinking bars for my windows would cost 100 or more per window for something good ,i was wrong i got these and this is so strong ,was packaged good and shipped fast ,i have a alarm system and a camera system and don't live in the best neighborhood but in the summer i like to keep a window open or 2 and its a pain to by pass the alarm so i leave it off at night, so i installed this bar on the outside of my window it fit perfect in the frame holes are great but i re drilled 2 so i could angel 4 inch screws into the studs . took me about 20 minutes total and they thing is soild as a rock .. i all ready feel safer with my window open i can still put my fan in it and i do not at all have to worry about my boy getting out the house or anyone crawling in at night no more.. ok now if there is a fire i will not be able to get out this window , so i have 7 windows down stairs im going to put these on the 3 that would most likely be broken into and let me alarm cover the rest . if u have a window your scared to leave open or a window the kids mess with get this it will give you 100 percent piece of mind, them safety latches are nice but i know my kid could open them within 15 minutes ,he will not be able to open this and i can sleep with fresh air at night again this is a 6 star product !!!!

Non reversible screws, oh no!

I got the first one in easy then realized I couldn't close the window. Then realized the screws are non reversing type meaning once it's in you can't unscrew it. So I guess this window is just open forever now.

I feel better having the in the windows

I have two toddler in a two story house where my second floor windows are lower to the ground the normal. I also felt super nervous about that. Im glad I came across these. I had my husband put these in every upstairs window. I feel so much better now knowing my kids are safe.

Smaller than expected

Maybe I should’ve read the measurements but I’m the picture it looked larger, and I’m sure it works really great for high up windows just not what I expected.
