Can't wait to try it out when the Ice returns. The rod seems very sturdy and capable. The material and manufacture resulted in a very smooth rod. The eyes are in alignment and the reel mounting location works great on several different sized reels. Balance is also good. Can't go wrong with an ugly stick.

Plenty of backbone!

1st time to use an ice rod. Fishing on a catwalk by a dam with very little room. Around 8ft to the water so you have to lift the crappie up. This rod worked perfectly. Plenty of backbone. Would buy again.

Packaged and delivered carefully. Exactly as described.these poles are very sensitive when fish are lightly nibbling, with the backbone to bring in very large 36" fish. These poles are extremely durable and will last for many years!

Incorrect Advertising

Pictured pole is not the same as the description. I ordered the 28in pole and the handle is different than pictured, so it’s not accurate. I should have read the other reviews first.

Like all Ugly Stiks

Like all Ugly Stiks, these are super sensitive and super tough. Soft tip gives you the sensitivity for the lightest bite, but the rod has plenty of backbone for the meanest pan fish and the occasional catfish or bass.

INACCURATE description, NOT a 30" light rod, nor a 26" rod it is a 30" MH rod

As much as the rod is a good rod, the description was horrible, the headline says "USGXICE26L Ugly Stik GX2 Ice Fishing Rod, 30-Inches, Light" that in itself is wrong, as a USGXICE26L is actually a 26" rod, then when looking the the item description I see it marked as a USGXICE30MH which would be a 30" Medium Heavy rod. I proceeded to contact the shipper, and asked which rod I will be receiving and was told "just select which one I wanted and that's the one I will receive", well there wasn't a choice of which rod I wanted, so I just ordered taking my chances, and I received a USGXICE30MH a 30" MH rod. I will be returning this rod. this is the 3rd incorrect rod I have received from Amazon in the last week. very disappointed.
