Good but similar lighter-weight shears are available from other manufacturers

These are unquestionably good shears. I bought them because, from looking at the photos on the Amazon webpage, they appeared to be identical to the "DP400 Darlac Garden Long Handle Lightweight Shear" which I had also found to be very good. I wanted more Darlac shears but could not find any for sale at that time. The Spear and Jackson ones are almost identical to the Darlac shears, but are noticeably heavier. The blades are held on by screws giving the impression that they might be replaceable, but this might be more to do with achieving a light-weight product. In my experience "Heavy weight" shears are made from steel such that the core of each handle and its blade are a single piece of metal. The light-weight feature of the Spear & Jackson shears is achieved by making most of the shears out of an aluminium casting to which steel blades are secured by screws.

Fantastic shears Are use them as soon as they were delivered very sharp easy to use lightweight very good grip on the handle doesn’t hurt your hand which was great with the job I need to do which was a lot in my garden they are now put away for next summer can’t wait to use them again

Having tried many Garden Shears over the years, these are by far the best quality shears I have purchased. Would thoroughly recommend these shears.
