Excellent Receiver With All The Right Stuff... No Need To Upgrade!
Awesome RC receivers! The AR620 6-channel & the AR410 4-channel are compact, affordable and all the receiver the vast majority of fliers will ever need. Years ago, as a young engineer in the RC industry, I learned from experience that our radio technology far exceeds what most fliers will ever need or use. Often, simpler is obviously better. After carefully researching the current Spektrum product line, it seems these two supposed "entry level" receivers are among the best performing in the entire Spektrum lineup. Super simple with all the necessary features and conveniences (including telemetry). They are micro size & ridiculously lightweight (AR620 8g & AR410 7g). With no external antenna to hassle with and very nicely priced at $50 & $35 respectively, who could possibly need more? When used with the new NX series transmitters, these AR receivers even offer fly-by telemetry (800-foot range). I personally use a micro alarm on my airborne LiPo batteries to inform me of my battery condition -- rather than taking my eyes off my airplane to stare at squint-print on my transmitter LCD screen (or listen to some robo-voice squawk at me). But, obviously the telemetry feature entices plenty of customers to buy another gee-wiz, gotta-have, techno-gadget. This new series of Spektrum receivers perform flawlessly with both my NX8 (programmable) and DXe (basic) transmitters. Also, if you want to use Futaba servos with these receivers, you can even carefully trim off the tiny "interference tabs" on the receiver front plug-in opening (removing the plastic reciever face is best before trimming). Also, you can lightly clip off the Futabe servo connector key tab... and bingo, you have created a universal servo connector and a compatible receiver. Don't ya' just love companies that try to insist on making their product proprietary -- when it serves no functional purpose? As a serious and active 3D flier these days, I've found both the AR620 & AR410 to be very capable and reliable receivers that perform flawlessly under the most demanding conditions. I own two of each receiver and have experienced zero issues with any of them. I see no reason to get caught up in the addictive "upgrade" syndrome when these fantastic micro receivers meet my needs completely. Check them out for yourself.

Awesome receiver but not best for use with multi protocol radios
Great receiver but not the best for my radio, This receiver is one I purchased for use with one of my large balsa planes. I am currently using a multi-protocol radio so you have to turn off telemetry otherwise you will get a bunch of low RSSI error messages. Absolutely no issues in the air, it works great, just no accurate telemetry info back to my radio that is not Spektrum. If you are going to use Spektrum receivers it is best to use a Spektrum radio. With that, you would have a much better experience than I did. The receiver works great for my 4-channel aircraft but again you really need a Spektrum radio for this receiver to get the most benefit.

Great small 6 channel receiver - and no external antenna!
This has become my go-to Spektrum receiver. For most simple planes, this receiver has 4 channels for routine controls (throttle, ailerons, elevator, rudder) and 2 channels left over for my gyro……perfect. The receiver is small, lightweight, has a bind button on top of it (so you don’t have to go searching for a bind plug), and you can put it anywhere in your plane because there is no external antenna or satellite. It can’t get much easier! I call it a postage stamp receiver, cuz that’s about how big it is. Been using these for a couple of years, with no failures!

If you have to use Spektrum, this is the way to go!
I am bias against Spektrum SAFE. To me, it's UNSAFE! I have zero use for computer assist flight. I like the old school feel of live feedback and knowing I am 100% flying the plane. No guessing who is doing what, LOL. This receiver is just perfect and I can't see why you would need anything else. If you are like me, don't buy Horizon models that come with the receiver! Buy this, drop it in, and no more radio setup headaches. I have been flying planes off and on for well over 30 years! After I ripped that junk Spetkrum SAFE crap out, and dropped this in, the joy of flight returned immediately! You can't go wrong with this little receiver. I plan on buying another one for the next glow plane!

Good Rx
I was skeptical about the capabilities of this reciever knowing it has an internal antenna. After multiple tests I am pleasantly surprised. As long as it is place in a good location away from strong EM interference (ESC, Batts) this reciever isba winner and has worked better than its external antenna counterparts. Good buy.

Quality Control Issues
Just rec'd this today. Haven't had opportunity to try it yet because standard RC 3 pin plugs won't fit into it. It appears the rectangular hole in the case is too small (or maybe done on purpose for only Spektrum plugs?). I had to cut the factory seal and take a small file to open it up enough to get any plug or servo to fit. Hope this isn't indicative of Spektrum as I also bought a DX6E radio. Will update review once I test functionality. UPDATE: Unit works great-have updated from 1 to 4 stars. Apparently the plug issue is common and many people have to file them down. Easy to do at least.
