Not a bad remote, Bad programming!

So I ended up having to return it the second day I had it, now mind you partially due to my negligence but also has a lot to do with spektrum and having crappy support as well as not sending a cable with the remote to reprogram and update. I think it gets really unethical these companies charge 20 sum dollars for an extra cable that shouldn't be extra. So I was messing with the programming and was trying to set up 2 new servos for vanquish vs4-10 phionex, the OD and Dig functions. I was trying to calibrate the 3nd points and not sure what I did but the car started going crazy and the remote was no longer connected, i reminded at least 30 times I tried everything, read online for probably 16 hours straight and I finally came up with bc I factory reset the remote it has to be reprorammed which you have to buy the cables eperate. Wasn't jumping through those hoops when there are remotes out there that are far cheaper and 10x better. Sent it back and going to get something else.

Great Product

The DX3 is an excellent 3 channel transmitter/receiver for the entry level or intermediate rc hobbyist. There may be other brand names that are superior to this product but Spektrum is a very solid and reliable name in rc electronics. I own a couple of DX3's and I can say that they are light weight and provide a great deal of stability. All in all,they are a good value for the money.

Purchased this to replace the original AM receiver that came with my traxxas t-maxx 2.5. Took a little time to understand how to program it, but the YouTube videos were very helpful. Overall I would recommend it.

Very good radio

This is a nice radio. Well made, good instructions and plenty of adjustments. You can buy cheaper Chinese branded radios, but generally they don’t work as well and have lots of set up issues with very poor instructions. I’ve tried them all, waste of time and money. Watch the pricing on this, it seems to fluctuate 10-20 bucks. It works very well for crawlers. Pair with a Reedy ESC and you have great system.

Transmitter and receiver both work well, shipping was slow as heck though was like 10-14 days to get from Richmond b.c. to surrey b.c. an hours drive away
