Superior quality, heavy duty

I actually had to return this due to it being way to big for my needs, but was impressed enough with the quality to write a review. The thickness of the canvas is way ahead of other bags using cheaper materials, and the stitching and zippers are top notch. This is built for heavy duty use. Wish they had one just like it but a little smaller.

Survived a couple of domestic flights, borderline oversize

Used this when I flew to the Caribbean for a few months. HUGE, it's really borderline oversize for most airlines, as in a few inches over the mark. But I talked to an airline rep to make sure I wont have to pay oversize fees and she explained that the baggage check-in people are trained to only visually check, they wont be busting out a tape measure, so when I finally checked in i wasn't charged any fees, but I probably barely. Survived the flight and the rough hands of the handlers with no tears, so I'm pretty happy. No frills, no pockets or wheels or padding, just a basic thick-ish canvas duffel with a detachable shoulder strap, two straps on top and a strap on each side. Overall pretty happy.

It is a good bag that works fine even in air travel on international flights. I used to but similar bags from Cabelas but these are of comparable quality and more economical price

For what you get a strong built bag for a reasonable price! Love the handles on the ends of the bag. Using to store my Kodiak Canvas Tent. Has more room to store the guy ropes and stakes. The one that came with tent cheap quality. This bag far surpasses the OE bag! Thanks!

Delivered as pictured... almost.

Great upper mid-size duffel. Yes, I agree, the picture looks tan and blue, which originally turned me away from it, but on reading reviews and the description I realized that it's tan and black, and is a very sharp looking piece of luggage. Unless you're looking for a navy piece to match a set or team colors or something, this will prove to be a good addition to your travel plans. Nothing super special about this one: hand loops on either end of the bag, snap-closure canvas for the 2 larger hand straps at the zipper, and a pretty sturdy feeling shoulder strap. Just a big cotton cylinder. One worry is that the shoulder strap attaches with buckles a la waist belts on hiking packs, and I've had bad experiences with those in the past... plus it makes the shoulder strap very difficult to replace.Would vastly prefer D-rings there, but you can bet if I ever have a problem with the bag, this review will get updated! Update: Well... that worry proved to be true. The bag has awesome capacity; what I was carrying in 2 duffels fit with room to spare in this one... and then I tried to pick it up. The bag seems to hold fine, but the plastic buckles for the shoulder straps apparently can't handle more than about 20# of weight.Unless you're using this for carrying soccer balls or something don't waste the time. And if you're planning to buy a better luggage strap... again, don't bother. It uses 2 inch plastic backpack buckles, not D-rings. you're either carrying this one by the hand strap or getting a different bag.
