Makeup brushes are an investment, whether you’re a professional artist or an enthusiast. More importantly, washing dirty makeup brushes is a tedious, but necessary task. Neglecting your brushes not only shortens their lifespan, but it can also lead to breakouts and other skin issues. The TAO Clean Sonic Makeup Brush Cleaner turns a dreaded, time-consuming chore into a quick and easy afterthought, preserving both the brushes and your complexion with minimal time and effort. TAO Clean Sonic Makeup Brush Cleaner Soap Pods were specially created to work exclusively with the TAO Clean Sonic Makeup Brush Cleaner to thoroughly remove dirt, oil, and makeup from makeup brushes. Each pod completely dissolves in water, leaving behind nothing but gentle suds. Combined with the motion of the TAO Clean Sonic Makeup Brush Cleaner, the soap dislodges debris from brush bristles without damaging or drying out the bristles. One pod can be used through multiple cycles, making it economical as well as a time saver. How to Use: Fill the base of the TAO Clean Sonic Makeup Brush Cleaner with 1.5 cups of warm water and drop in 1 TAO Clean Sonic Makeup Brush Cleaner Soap Pod, allowing approximately one minute for it to dissolve. Load up to 6 brushes into the ports of the handle. Place brushes bristle side down into the base. Bristles will be fully immersed. Plug in and press the Power button to start the two minute cycle. When cycle is complete, remove brushes, rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry. In addition to cleaning brushes, the TAO Clean Sonic Makeup Brush Cleaner can be used to Power Rinse and Power Dry brushes. Power Rinse by running TAO Clean Sonic Makeup Brush Cleaner as directed without a TAO Clean Sonic Makeup Brush Cleaner Soap Pod, and Power Dry by running as directed without soap or water, after which time the majority of the water will be shaken off of the bristles. The brushes can then air dry in an accelerated amount of time. Please note that the TAO Clean Sonic Makeup Brush Cleaner accommodates makeup brushes that range from 5 - 18mm in diameter, and from 4 - 9 inches in length . Kabuki, double-sided, and some novelty-handled brushes cannot be used in the machine. Brushes that are used with heavy, waterproof, or oil-based makeup may require a second cycle of the TAO Clean Sonic Makeup Brush Cleaner, but TAO Clean Sonic Makeup Brush Cleaner Soap Pods can be used for several washes. Caring for the Tao Clean Sonic Makeup Brush Cleaner: Clean your machine once a week by wiping down with a soft cloth and removing any soap or makeup residue. Ensure that the cleaner is unplugged before doing so. It's a blessing with a touch of a curse.........but still a blessing
I hate cleaning my brushes, it's a chore. I've been researching machines for sometime now and finally settled on this baby. I felt that I didn't/wouldn't get a deep enough clean when I cleaned by brushes by hand or with the other machines. I did NOT have that problem here. This machine did a whopper of a clean and when you look at these pics you'll be convinced. That's the blessing...........now for the curse..... The handles on some of the brushes were damaged as reported by other users. I think the ends of the brushes are either: 1. Laying too close to the motor 2. There isn't any or enough cushioning at the ends of the brushes Maybe the brush ends weren't considered in the design but they should be. I'm going to try wrapping the specific areas my next clean and update you all. Also the pods/water CAN be reused however I saw a decrease in the cleanliness of the brushes after 2 to 3 washes but again my brushes were SERIOUSLY soiled so take that with a grain of salt. I will say that 6 pods for almost $30 bucks is crazy......researching alternatives.

Best hundred bucks I ever spent!
This is a game changer. As a professional makeup artist, I have to wash my brushes after each application to avoid cross-contamination. That adds up to a lot of brushes and a LOT of washing by hand. This has dramatically reduced my time standing at the sink. It only holds 6 brushes at a time which isn’t a whole lot, but 6 at a time is still better than 1 at a time! It even cleaned weeks of gunk out of my personal brushes. Foundation and concealer brushes may need more than one cycle to get truly clean, but anything beats doing it by hand. The soap pods that are included do a great job, but I blew through those quickly, even with multiple uses. Liquid brush cleaner works just fine! It will vibrate itself off the counter if you’re not careful, so I moved mine to the floor to avoid any falls. If you have tons of brushes, or some nice high-quality brushes that you want to treat properly, please get this unit! It’s worth every penny to protect your investment.

This thing is AMAZING! Wish I had gotten this sooner.
This thing is AMAZING. I'm incredibly lazy when it comes to cleaning my brushes... so lazy in fact I just end up buying little cheap traveling packs of brushes at Walgreens over and over and they all just pile up in my brush holder. This brush washer though has completely stopped that terrible habit. I just followed the simple instructions. As it mentioned, some brushes might have to go through a few times if really dirty but Voila! I cleaned 30+ brushes in 15 minutes with ONE detergent pod. I let them air dry though, I didn't need them immediately so I don't know how well the drying part works but otherwise... I'm one satisfied customer. No damage to my brushes (even the cheap ones) at all even when I doubled up on thinner brushes. Just make sure they are pushed down enough not to exceed the spoke wheel at the top of the brush loader and buckle them in tight.

Can fit some irregular sized brushes with some creative placement.
tl;dr: Even if you have weird brush handles, get creative and this product still might be able to wash your brushes without any damage to the product or your brushes. The majority of my brushes don't look like normal brushes; I have two huge 'buki brushes (Tarte Buffer Airbrush), and an entire set where the handles are leaf-shaped (google image of leaf-shaped brushes, and it's the green/brown set with the fan brush). I'm hard-headed, so I *had* to try to clean them, despite size recommendations. Well, after some tweaking here and there, I was able to get them in without damaging anything and the unit cleaned them extremely well. So if you have some brushes with weird handles, test it out first, see if you can fit them in there without breaking anything, and you might be well surprised. The only brushes for sure I wasn't able to wash were my mushroom head brushes, as when you set them into their slots, the length is too long and won't run the cycle.

Great at What It Does
So let me start out by saying I feel like a lot of people want literally a washer and dryer for makeup brushes but that's truly not possible. I feel like anything made to just throw a bunch of makeup brushes in and hope they come out dry and perfect would just ruin them. This machine does a great job and the best washing machine for brushes without ruining them. It's so much easier to just put them in and let the cycle run then let it stand to dry vs. washing them by hand which kills my back and is grueling work. My brushes are completely clean too which is awesome because I've never gotten the color out of most of them washing them by hand and even letting them soak but now they're like new!

cleans your brushes but not a time saver
I have a lot of brushes so was hoping this would clean them all at once. Unfortunately I had to separate them into two batches. I followed the directions to a T - I was hoping it would be a faster process than just cleaning brushes by hand with soap which I hate doing, but I think with all the steps it took (ie loading the brushes properly, filling the machine with water and soap, waiting for the clean cycle, then rinsing out and reloading, etc etc) it was as equal to hand washing brushes as far as time and efficiency . The pros is that this machine definitely gets your brushes clean. I do wish the dry feature worked better - I will probably try that a few times next time. My brushes took 24 hours to dry, even after using the dry feature. There are definite pros and cons to this - it makes my life easier by doing the cleaning for me, but it did not save me any time which was my main goal when buying this.

It works ok but not as clean as washing in the sink
I don’t think it’s a good value for your money. It works but it’s not worth $100. Your brushes will be clean... somewhat. For most face brushes a second cycle is needed. I hate washing my makeup brushes and I bought this machine to save time and I’m lazy. After using it once to clean a few brushes (20) took longer than washing 50 plus brushes by hand. I’m going to return it because it’s not worth the money when my brushes are cleaner when I wash them myself. In my opinion you don’t need this machine it’s really really loud like a blender.

Even cream foundation is removed after 4 minutes of wash
I rarely give 5 stars. I cant express enough how extremely pleased I am with this brush cleaner. (Edit: I reduced to 4 since once the brushes are dry, it is evident that some cream foundation residue remains on the brushes....but in fairness, this is foundation that has been drying on the brush for weeks) Background: I had brushes with caked on cream foundation that I tried cleaning by hand after soaking in dish soap for hours. Never could work the foundation out of the bristles by hand. I was almost positive that this automatic brush cleaner would only get me half way there with these heavy cream foundations (ones from a palette, not the light squeeze ones from a bottle). Especially since it didn't have the rubbing pad like some other models . Pros/Results: -I ran 2, 2-minute cycles using the supplied pod detergent. The brushes haven't dried yet, but initial result feels very good. Seems a large proportion of the cream foundation was removed. -instructions are excellent. They even went the extra mile to make them fun like a comic strip with some cute kitchy humour. No bad Chinese translation here. Obviously these were planned and written by English speakers. Lovely. -takes 6 brushes. Wish it would take more, but understandable that the device needs room for the motor. I was able to fit 2 eye brushes into one hole and strap them in. I'm running these as I type so fingers crossed. -You can run the machine without water to help dry the brushes. The machine can also be used as a hanger to allow brushes to drip dry. -No woman should be without this. It's clean, and not messy. Cons: -Maybe some horizontal ridges on the base making it easier to hold without slipping trough fingers??? Minor issue/non-issue. -Hopefully the motor lasts. Given the record of stuff like this, I don't expect more than a couple years out of it. But who knows. Maybe someone else who's owned it longer can comment on this. -Sizes are roughly set. So you will be able to do 2 big brushes, 2 medium, and 2 small. Or combine smaller brushes into one hole which seemed to work okay. -One of the holes damaged the handle of one of my brushes. Either friction rubbed of a small pea size groove in the handle or it chipped. Maybe a defect with the brush also, but I have a feeling it is rubbing against something in the hole that caused the damage. Did not make the brush unusable. Just a minor irritation. -I ran the cleaner more than 10 times (over 20 minutes) on one set of brushes, and it was unable to remove all the caked on cream foundation residue. Significantly better than before, but probably 80% clean, with 20% I will have to do by hand with a rubbing pad. So an added con would be: -Allow for a timer setting. The unit will only do 2 minutes per button press. If it needs cool down cycles in between then that could be automated.

This is it!
This product really works fast and well. Only complaint would be that it is that: the way it is made, you are quite limited in the sizes and style of bushes that you can clean. But wow, does it ever clean them and it is so fast.
