About the Startup Describe your product in 3 words. Compact, Stable, Durable How did you come up with the idea for this product? We ski a lot with our kids and are always tailgating in the parking lot for lunch. Standard tables on the snow or muddy parking lots can be very unstable. One day the idea came to me to use the vehicle tire as the main support. The next day I made the first Tailgater tire table using an old pitch and catch that was in the yard which had the bends that I needed and then added some plywood which became prototype #1. Two-years later with several more prototypes, I was still not happy with the table. It was slow and frustrating as I could not weld and using other people was very slow. So I bought a MIG welder and taught myself how to weld good enough to build them myself. In no time, I had the style that I liked and is what you see today. Changes are still being made to make the table as functional friendly as possible and we always listen to our customers suggestions to make it better. What makes your product special? The table is stable regardless of the ground conditions. It is quite compact so storage takes up minimal space. The powder coated, all steel construction makes it very durable. What has been the best part of your startup experience? We have exhibited at 14 trade shows between May and November 2017. It is a great feeling when people automatically get the concept of having a table that is so compact and solves the problem of traveling with a large table when you have limited space. Anyone that enjoys the outdoors and travels with their vehicle loves the concept and wishes they had thought of it first.
