Useful kitchen item but Tavolo branded model no better than the generic versions

These are great to have. Less elegant but more functional than traditional serving utensils for salad, vegetables, meat etc. That said, regardless of price, they all seem to fail when the hinge pin wears and pulls through. This pair with the 'Tavolo' brand lasted less than two years. Granted these are inexpensive, but I'd pay extra for a brand that invested in a beefier rivet.

Great tongs

Excellent tongs which are super sturdy and heat resistant. The locking mechanism is strong and easy to manipulate and the two sizes are great. I put 4 stars because we have to other tong that comes with the built in spoon rest edge which I prefer.

FLIMSY FOOD TONGS

I HAD PURCHASED ONE OF THESE AT A COUNTRY STORE AND THE ONE I GOT THERE IS VERY STURDY. THESE WERE THE SAME PRICE I PAID FOR THE ONE AT THAT STORE. NOW I KNOW WHY -- THEY ARE FLIMSY, THE HINGES ARE DIFFERENT AND THE GRIPS AT THE END ARE NOT AS THICK OR STURDY. VERY DISAPPOINTED. WOULD BE RETURNING THINGS TO AMAZON BUT I DO NOT TRUST THEM TO GIVE CREDIT.

These are the "element" line which are thinner than the "normal" ones.

I purchased these to supplement some Tovolo tongs that we already owned. These are the "element" line, not the regular ones. They are made out of thinner metal. They do the job, and they were cheap, so I am going to keep them and use them, but if I did it over again, I would have bought the regular ones, which have a more premium feel and I think will outlast these "element" ones.

Convenient, easy to use. I have a thing for using mini thongs for many applications in the kitchen. Love the rubber ends on these thongs .. keeps my pots & pans scratch free.

love the colors & size, lock isn't great

The colors are good, size is useful, but the lock doesn't really work so they take up more room on the counter or container or drawer, they're not as well made as other tongs. They'll do, but I won't buy them again.

Tip ends bend too easily

I love the size and design but the working ends have a weakness at the area joining the metal and bend very easily. These are still very functional -- just keep that in mind.
