1/2 hp manual submersible utility pump with 10' power cord and water cooled motor; requires monitoring to turn pump on/off; will drain from flat surfaces to 3/8 inch and handles solids up to 1/8 inch diameter; up to 3180 gph. Download the user manual under the technical specification section of this page for safety, installation, troubleshooting, and information. Utility pumps are used to transfer water from one source to another or to drain water from surfaces. These pumps are typically used for draining water from sinks or tubs with clogged drains, emptying Pools or spas, draining excess water on flooded basement floors, etc. Utility pumps are either portable or submersible. Portable means they are designed to operate outside the water with a hose placed in the water. Submersible means they are designed to be submersed in water. Submersible pumps can be provided with no on/off switch, which means they are manually operated or have a 'smart' switch that will detect the absence of water and will therefore shut off the pump automatically. Since most utility pumps are made of plastic and rubber components, running them dry (running them without water circulating in them), will result in the pump overheating and melting the plastic and rubber components. As a result it is required that you physically monitor pumps provided without switches so you can unplug them when the task is complete. WaterAce products exceed the competition in flow and head performance. Test laboratory and ISO 9000 facility account for quality built pumps that are all CSA approved. The WaterAce commitment is to produce pumps for the long term at the best value. Click on the WaterAce products link at the top of this page to see more pump options from WaterAce products.

So far so good.
Working well under tough conditions. Didn't realize this one does not have an auto float shut off, had to buy an external one, but works great.

Really glad this worked when I needed it most...
I purchased this pump after a combination of factors caused the drain in my driveway to overflow and flood my garage, which in turn flooded the lower level of my home. I wanted to be prepared in the event this situation ever happened again. Well, I came home this evening to find about 4in of water in my garage, and my house flooded again. I immediately grabbed this pump, attached my hose, and plugged it in. The pump started to chug, and strain, but I knew that everything would be dry soon. And then it stopped. I checked my breaker. I checked the plug. Nothing would get this little pump to start again. I walked away while I left it plugged in, and somehow, by the power of Tho's hammer, this thing started pumping...except nothing was coming out of the hose. I removed the hose from the pump and let it work its magic, but nothing was coming out of the top. And then, as if the pump finally found some work ethic, a geyser 7ft high shot out of the hole in the top. I unplugged the pump, reattached the hose, plugged it back in, only for the pump to do nothing. Needless to say, sometimes the pump turned on, sometimes it didn't, but not once did it help with my flood problem. Eventually, I had to let the water drain on its own while I handled the puddles in my house. I will be returning this product. I have no desire to exchange it. I will find a pump that won't let me down elsewhere.

Perfect for my requirement
I purchased this pump to control the level in my 13000 gallon water storage cistern, which I need to keep half full - complicated cracking issues. I fitted a tethered a float switch to achieve this. The pump will be immersed under 3 feet of water and pump out when the water reaches 4 feet. On test, it worked well at the rate expected. When initially emptying the cistern with it, it cut out at about 3 inches. i don't know if that was the thermal cut out or if that is as much as it can achieve. Time will tell if it can withstand being totally submerged for a very prolonged period.

A great little submersible.
This is a very good submersible pump. I used it to empty a large pool and spa and it was fast. I wish it had an automatic shutoff as I wanted to run it all night but did not want to burnout the motor. It drains to almost nothing which is great and I think it is a very good value and works very easily.

Draining trench
Used for a project where I had to keep draining a large trench in the yard. Worked well and is still working as needed. Pumps a good amount of water for under 60 dollars. This was not bought for a long term use so I cannot comment on longevity.

Good
Does the job. Seems a little weak for a 1/2hp.

So far, so good
I want to comment on the speed in which this arrived. I appreciate such a fast service in this time of COVID interruptions. This is for a small pond, it's perfect for the water element in this pond. I replace this pump about every 2-3 years. I'll hope for that life with this one. Thanks again for the speedy delivery. The fish appreciate it.

Good quality
I ordered this pump to empty my pool. It was able to pump the water out with no problem. It’s not able to suck a thin layer of water but it’s really good for large amounts. This has good horsepower and is very durable. I compared pumps at HD hardware store and this one is better priced for the horsepower it gives. The only con is that it doesn’t have a on/off switch but I’m still satisfied with this pump. Some pumps that look nicer are weaker.
