WEST SYSTEM 865-4 G/5 Five Minute Epoxy Adhesive, 8 fl oz

As with any epoxy, for best adhesion roughen any smooth surfaces to provide texture for the adhesive to key into. G/5 does not require clamping pressure as long as contact between parts is maintained during cure. If using clamps, it is best to use minimal clamp pressure to avoid excessive squeeze out resulting in a glue starved joint. The joint will be ready for light service after 15 minutes and cured to near full strength after four hours at room temperature. It will continue to gain strength and toughness with additional cure time. Cured G/5 can tolerate getting wet but it is not intended for items that are continuously damp or wet. It will work well on exterior applications as long as long-term wet/damp conditions are avoided.

BEST FOR PROJECTS that will remain dry and are not subject to high loads. Not recommended for long-term bonds subject to high loads or moisture. Comes with one 4 fl oz of Resin, and one 4 fl oz of Hardener. EASILY MODIFIED with WEST SYSTEM Fillers, Additives, and Pigments to suit the job at hand. Adding G/5 to other WEST SYSTEM epoxies can speed their cure time. Since this very quick-cure epoxy is not as strong or waterproof as our 105 Resin-based epoxies or G/flex epoxies, G/5 will reduce the cured physical properties of other epoxies when blended with them. IDEAL VISCOSITY allows it to penetrate porous surfaces yet it's viscous enough to bridge gaps when gluing broken objects. FAST CURING 2-PART EPOXY allows 3-5 minutes of working time. It adheres to a number of surfaces including wood, ceramic, metal, leather, plaster, stone, fiberglass, glass, cork, some plastics, and paper. G/5 is an excellent choice for quick repairs around the house, high-end crafts and much more. EASY TO USE, epoxy resin/hardener system for quick repairs, tooling and general bonding. May be used in spot applications to hold parts in position while standard epoxy bonds cure. One-to-one mix, no pumps required.

WEST is the best!
WEST SYSTEM is my go to and the only epoxy I'll use for adhesive type projects (i.e. not river tables). I always keep some of this, their GFlex line, and their 105 series on hand. I've tried many different brands and there's just no beating the WEST products. I used the Loctite brand until this came out, and I definitely feel like this is an upgrade. In my opinion, the G/5 is a better consistency and a little easier to work. I've also found that the hardener does not thicken up in the bottle after sitting on the shelf for a long time (a year or more) like the other brand. The Bob Smith stuff is really not good compared to this and you'll be doing yourself a favor by getting some of this instead. The only caveat with this is it sets up up a little quicker than other 5 minute epoxies, which can be good or bad, so make sure to only mix up small batches to control the cure rate and heat.

Fantastic adhesive
This stuff is magic, its no wonder so many craftsman recommend it. Its easy to measure out, hardens fast, and creates an extremely strong bond. I've used it for attaching several handles for knives and other tools and its worked great in any case. Once applied it only takes 5 minutes before its hard enough to bring to the grinder. Amazing stuff!

New favorite epoxy
I use a lot of epoxy for my work. This is my new favorite. The bottles are fantastic and the resin is thinner than most brands so it's easy to squeeze our what you need

Question about it's intended use, adhesion capability, and cure time
This product seemed to be just standard epoxy. The product's title 'Epoxy Adhesive' was a bit confusing as to it's purpose or use. While it is fast setting, the directions indicate 5 minute cure time, but that really is the 'set time'. The reason this is meaningful is that we used the product as intended and yet about 18-20 hours later, while doing some clean up sanding, the epoxy began to peel off of the substrate. The substrate was simple particle board and was clean, dry. lightly sanded, then vacuumed prior to applying the G/5 Five Minute Epoxy Adhesive.

The G/5 Five Minute Epoxy Adhesive glue broken glass
G/5 Five Minute Epoxy Adhesive I like it. It glue everything incl. glass. You have to be very fast,if you slow this kind of glue is not for you.Between 5 Minutes I glue plastic handle on the microwave incl. plastic on power breaker incl.coffee cup handle and the last was wine glass all less then 5 minutes. All the Items I glued later I using it no problem . This product is very good

The best
This is by far the best 5 MInute Epoxy I have ever used. Other ones either don't harden quickly or all the way. This one hardens very fast and very hard. Worth the extra few bucks.
