This is The One
Look no further--this is the one for your kid's diorama project. Easy, affordable, sturdy, effective, clean presentation. We purchased several "fancy," more expensive brands--including wooden ones with lights, etc., which were a nightmare, don't do it--ditched them all, went with this, and it was easy and perfect. First, we used the base only to make her diorama; used a glue gun to secure a felt piece atop the base, which she then arranged her diorama pieces on, which we then also secured with the glue gun. (Highly recommend the low-heat one made especially for kids, here on Amazon. Most of the items in the photo were also purchased on Amazon, including the figures, animals, fire, food, baskets, rocks, bushes, and raffia we glued atop a paper cup, to make the hut. The lake and trees were purchased at Michael's.) The white background piece can easily be decorated when flat, then clicked into place. (To make it sturdier so it wouldn't pop out, we put glue gun drops in each corner, to secure it.) Grab your label maker to seal the deal--and you've got a diorama that won a featured display in the library and the student presentation on the school's family weekend!

should contain base, but separates easily
Product is as described. A base and a backboard. But they were barely connected by rubber cement. The base was NOT wrapped with the back. It would be very easy for them to become separated and the worker (or machine) would not know since the backboard would still be shrink wrapped with there barcode.

an affordable base to display models or other creative designs
I've been looking for some inexpensive bases to help be in building current projects to allow me to improve my skills. it also helps to raise the current project out of the clutter for a conversation piece.
