Monitor your electric consumption

Exactly what I needed to determine how many kWh it takes to charge my hybrid vehicle. I didn’t trust what I read a line about my vehicle’s battery so I ordered this plug in monitor and captured the exact kWh consumption that I needed. Using the Dusk - Dawn setting to control a color changing outdoor gazing ball. The controller not only works great. This device is better than most as it is not affected by the bright porch light. It still stays on at night without interruption. Very satisfied with operation, quality and price of the product.

It's a great timer, but....

It's a great timer, but the timing (2 hrs, 4 hrs, 6 hrs) starts after dusk. If it's a dark and rainy day, the sensor trips the Christmas lights to come on. I'll be replacing this with a smart timer, so I can control the time my lights are on.

Adequate Product

Product appears to be as advertised. Easy to use & appears to work under extreme conditions (heavy rain, freezing temperatures, etc..). Very reasonably priced & is operating well for my landscaping lights at this point.

Simple to use, robust digital timer

Excellent all-weather timer. Works well in low temperatures (-20°C). It is supposed to be 'weatherproof' which also means waterproof, but I can't afford to take a chance (since this time runs our dock bubbler all winter in eastern Ontario, and it is on an island) so I put it into this clear tupperware container to reduce risk of failure. As long as the light sensor is pointed towards the clear part of the container, it will pick up dusk light levels and turn on the bubbler (which is 8 Amps). Note that this is a digital timer. The only mechanical part is the dial which selects the time duration. The actual timer is a digital board. This seems to be important to some people, but from what I see here, this digital timer is just as good or better than the older mechanical timers. You can set 2, 4, 8 hours, or dusk-to-dawn operation. Placing the light sensor correctly is critical - you should test it first before leaving it for the winter.

Got this on sale to hook my outdoor Christmas lights to so that I would't have to run out into the freezing cold every night to turn on the lights. I got it on sale for around $12 and it was worth every penny. I have it set to the "Dusk to Dawn" setting so that I don't even need to think about the lights - they're on when they need to be on, and off when they need to be off. Pros: - Plug and forget with the Dusk to Dawn setting - Rugged for outdoors (it's worked through rain and snow) - Options to manually use an on/off - Option to set it to auto shut off 2h, 4h, 6h, or 8h after dusk (ie it will go on at dusk, and then shut off according to the hours you set - if you chose, 4h, then it would shut off 4h after dusk) Cons: - Only con I have found so far is that this particular model only has one outlet, so if you need to plug in more than one set of lights to it, you'll need to get the model that has multiple outlets

Funciona muy bien para decoracion de navidad

Me preocupaba que otras luces o el alumbrado publico interfirieran con el sensor de luz pero no pasado, se han encendido correctamente cuando se oculta el sol y se apagan cuando transcurre el tiempo configurado, esto independientemente de si hay focos o alumbrado publico encendidos. Un detalle importante es que en el manual menciona que para ser a prueba de agua (lluvia) debe montarse en la pared en forma vertical y estar a una altura de 1.20 m del suelo. En la parte de atras tiene un orificio para montarse en un tornillo que este en la pared. Le daria 5 estrellas si fuera a prueba de agua sin importar la forma o lugar de instalación. Solo verifica que el precio no sea muy elevado al momento de comprarlo ya que la primera vez que lo vi costaba 289 y despues bajo a 120.

producto novedoso

este producto es ideal para comenzar con la automatización de las luces en el hogar, lo tengo conectado a una lampara y hasta ahora ha funcionado muy bien, esto me permite llegar a casa con la comodidad de tener una luz encendida e incluso como medida de seguridad , el mecanismo es muy sensible y me ha pasado que si enciendo una luz y luego la apago, el aparato se vuelve a activar, el empaque maneja que es ideal para exteriores pero de momento solo le he usado en interiores, tambien he leido opiniones al respecto de que despues de un tiempo dejan de trabajar, pero en mi caso a mas de 2 meses está trabajando muy bien. El servicio de amazon como siempre me parece genial, y muy confiable.

Excelente producto, muy práctico y útil.

Muy sencillo el uso y muy práctico para controlar luces de patio. Uno lo use para encender y apagar con la puesta de sol y amanecer y otro encendido cierto tiempo después del atardecer. Además excelente relación costo/calidad.
