This cable is the lifeline of my woodshop.

I run the cable from the kitchen, into my shop (70 feet away, in the back yard). I was debating between the three outlet and one outlet variants. After living with it for a few months, the three prong was ABSOLUTELY warranted. Having run a fan, and a table saw in the summer, and now a heater and a table saw, and a power strip with lights, speakers, chargers, and anything else I need/want. When I'm done at night, I simply roll it up and store it inside. Takes 45 seconds. I'd be unable to do my work without this cable. HIghly worth the money.

Heavy duty, heavy weight.

Product is heavy duty, but also heavy to use. That was expected. Difficult to stretch out and manage, but that comes with a cord that has #12 wire. Can’t realistically talk about durability just got it. Three plug outlet is what I wanted, but can’t use it with electric leaf blower, because of design of blower.

Overkill! You probably don't need this...

First, the review is 5 stars because the product did exactly what it said it would do, no issues there. I used this cord to lead into the house from my generator during Sandy. As a single mom, I had a hard time setting up the generator, so a neighbor came over to help me. He also happens to be an electrician. He said, "You know you can use any cord that's rated for outdoor use?" Well, I spent close to $100 for this one... and I probably could have found one for a third of that price. It's a nice cord though, if that's any consolation. Just not sure if it's necessary for a portable generator. Perhaps for the larger generators, 7500+ ?? Just do your research first. Good luck!

melted down after a few months of use

Not sure what happened. But it melted down on me and could have caused a fire if the circuit breaker hadn't tripped. Bought it last year as a backup and put it to use this spring. lasted about 5 months then this. Maybe a surge? however, none of the equipment seems damaged and is working with another extension cord. In my non-expert opinion, it appears that the light (LED?) in the power block is the weak link. Everything else held together just fine, even the equipment attached to the extension cord. However, the light seems to be the point of failure. I'm guessing it exploded and shorted out the terminals in the block. Or, perhaps it overheated and that caused a short? I wasn't watching when it happened. Unfortunately, after a few hours of research over the last 3 days, I've been unable to determine exactly who I need to contact regarding warranty. It's supposed to have a "lifetime warranty", but it doesn't do any good if you can't get ahold of anyone. UPDATE: Still no contact information. A warranty is only as good as the company behind it. Yellow Jacket apparently doesn't want people contacting them. Will never buy their product again.
