4-star rating due to the sensor mounting screw knob
I decided to get this Acurite Atlas weather station because it was bundled with the lightning sensor. I also like the ship, or fish-style housing which suits my installation location better than the drone-style housing from Ambient weather. I also like this screen's graphics better than the other options, especially the high-end / highly-rated Davis which only supports a LCD reminding me of something from the mid-80's. So far it's working well and the temperature and wind seem accurate. No rain to compare with the regional reports yet. I have it connected to the My Acurite servers and share my data with Weather Underground. I plan to enable the Alexa skill, too. What I don't like at all is the mounting screw on the sensor. If Acurite reads these reviews, please use U-brackets for future models. Everyone who makes devices that mount to poles outdoors uses them for a reason. They are easy to secure, very sturdy and very long lasting. I am curious how many of these get returned and need refurbishment due to stripped screw knobs? Anyway, I am settled now that I have a fancy weather monitoring device up and running. I can now get weather info. at a glance and can finally stop asking Alexa what the weather is 20 times a day. I will update this review perhaps in the long term once I've had a chance to use it for a while and after performing routine maintenance on the sensor while its still on the post. EDIT after using this for a week and raising the anemometer up to 17 ft., I am very pleased. The display and sensors look to be of good quality and Acurite has ironed out the bugs with this configuration. Everything has been reliable after letting it work for a couple of days. I recommend this product. The price is great for what you're getting. Other companies' products cost far more especially if you want to match the feats this unit provides. UPDATE July 11, 2022 (first two photos are my initial installation and second two are my current installation): I am coming up on my return window and thought I would provide an update after 3 weeks in service. What I like is the display for the most part. The layout could be better with bigger text and more information. The Act-Rite logo doesn't need to be part of the image. If they want to brand the display they could silkscreen it on the bezel somewhere and it would be there even when the screen is off. The temperature / humidity / pressure / wind are close if not exact with the regional weather for the most part. The temp is up by about 4 degrees in the heat of the day and we have been having hot weather right now. The humidity varies by up to 5% at times but it's always close and exact at various times throughout the day and night. The wind speed matches the reports and is getting great readings at 17ft AGL. Direction matches the reports too. What I am not sure about is the UV index. It seems low compared to the reports. The lightning detector likes to go into interference mode whenever it's stormy. I haven't seen any actual lightening yet but the detector will register a few strikes now and then even when interference is displayed. As far as Wi-Fi and wireless signal to the station is concerned, I did have to move my display from the kitchen to an outer wall above my alarm system panel. Luckily it has a USB port to power the display. It did not communicate reliably behind another wall and the appliances even though it's only a few feet away from the kitchen location. The signal needs to be full bars for the sensor and Wi-Fi in my experience so you will need to think carefully about locations if you go with this unit. I still do not like the screw mount. I had to adjust the level again today as the bubble moved slightly off center on my level post. Hopefully it will stay put. Summary is I plan on keeping this weather station. It does a lot for the price and is of good quality. Acu-Rite look to have addressed past issues and have a competitive product. I don't think I would have better overall experience with a station costing 2 to 5 times the amount.

Hard to wifi connect
There is no one to contact for help, the IP address in instructions is not a website IP address is used to help connect to wifi. How I do t know , I had ask talk to a computer geek to try and help. He was confused as well. In short termsindont know how I did nothing but it desided to want to connect. Great not touching anything lol. I was getting mad but in long run keep your cool it will connect to wifi just take some thinking and time. As for the weather station it's self, when your have it installed outside there will be a red blinking led it is suppose to be blinking slow like a signal blink... If it's fast blinking the wind direct arrow on it need to be pointed to north, hold it, and pressed the bottom in side it in battery spot. This will adjust to to north and led light will be slow thats when it's right. The batteries can freeze can stop the station. All batteries are like that. Just warm them up and put them back in and everything is good. Becareful of China products they can be shysters.

Does not work with cable wi-fi
You cannot connect this unit to cable wi-fi which runs at 5.0 GHz, it only connects to 2.4 GHz. Also the display it comes with is a bit fuzzy on the smaller words. Overall I am happy with the product especially the fact it's American made. Just wish it could connect to my internet so I could use all the features and functionality.

This is a descent unit.
I like the information that the unit gives. The unit is big and bulky. The setup instructions on how to get the unit to go online is not clearly defined by the instructions. I had to do a search on the internet to find accurate information and once that was done I was able to get the weather unit completely up and running. The only draw back so far is difficult setup information.

Good unit
I would recommend to anybody for a good weather station ,The only problem with my unit is the lighting detector. when a thunder storm gets in the area and at the first crack of lighting the detect goes offline it will come back online after the storm is out of the area

Did not work out of the box.
Came with problems but the tech support was good and helped resolve the issue. It would be better to be able to talk to a real person because typing is hard to explain the problems.

Love it!
If you're a personal weather station fan I think you'll love this. We upgraded from an older Accurite that lost compatibility with the online connection. This one linked right up and feeds Wunderground easily. Tons of data on a very nice looking screen. Way better than our old unit. And the lightening detection is a nice adder we never had before too.

Frequent sensor resetting
I just bought the Atlas Professional to replace a no longer supported AcuRite model that ran flawlessly for years. So far, I'm regretting this decision. When it works, it works great. But a month into it, today, I'll be dragging out the ladder and going up to 'reset' the sensor for the 3rd or 4th time because it has stopped communicating with the display. It's not the wireless, and the senor and display are not too far apart. The two are literally 20 feet from one another with only a window separating them. Signal strength is strong. Batteries full. Anyway, the constant resets are likely going to force me to either move the senor down to where I don't have to use a ladder each time, or I'll return this and look for something different. I'm getting more use out of my ladder than this weather station.
