If your vehicle is not equipped with wiring for towing a trailer, CURT custom wiring is the ideal solution. A custom wiring harness -- also called a T-connector -- is a simple, plug-and-play electrical device that plugs into your automotive electric system and provides a standard, universal trailer wiring connection. This is done using two or more vehicle-specific, OEM-compatible connectors to plug into the taillight assembly, eliminating the need for cutting, splicing and soldering during installation. Custom wiring harnesses are made vehicle-specific, and while they are not available for all vehicles, they do offer one of the fastest, easiest and most secure ways to wire a vehicle for towing. This particular plug-in harness provides a 4-way flat connector socket and is designed to be a custom wiring harness to fit certain years of the Ford Escape (to verify your vehicle compatibility, see application info). It comes with all necessary wiring components to establish a reliable trailer wiring connection, as well as a dust cover to keep the connector clean when not in use. You have a picture in mind of your next destination -- maybe it's the boat landing at your favorite fishing spot, maybe it's a campsite that overlooks one of nature's masterpieces, or maybe it's the next big jobsite. However, turning that picture into a reality takes more than just daydreaming. It takes a solid connection and the right amount of power. CURT custom wiring is made with some of the most sophisticated technology in the industry and is designed to install with ease, giving you a long-lasting electrical connection for your towing hitch setup.

DUST COVER. To promote long-lasting use and weather resistance, this 4-pole trailer lighting wire harness comes with a rubber dust cover. It easily fits onto the 4-way flat connector when not in use, protecting it against the outdoor elements. RELIABLE POWER. This 4-way trailer wiring harness is built with surface mount technology. This type of circuitry generates less heat, optimal light intensity and durable performance. VEHICLE-SPECIFIC. This aftermarket, vehicle-trailer wiring harness is designed for select years of the Ford Escape. STANDARD CONNECTOR. This plug-in 4-flat trailer wiring can be used to connect trailer tail lights, brake signal lights and turn signals. 4-way trailer light wiring is popular on a variety of trailers, adding versatile towing options for your vehicle. EASY TO INSTALL. No cutting! No splicing! This trailer wiring harness kit plugs into existing factory wiring on your vehicle and equips it with a standard, rear 4-pin trailer wiring connector for plugging in and towing a trailer.

Great easy installation
This product is a plug and play interface with the factory wiring. All you have to do is run a power wire to the battery from the back.

Very infrequent towing of a Horrible Fright folding trailer that I upgraded to the LED ...
This one actually fits my 2017 Escape, I should have done more due diligence and not listened to Amazons "this will fit your car" for the harness for the 2013-2016 Escape. I did cut it up so I didn't have to make hack and make giant holes for the entire connector to pass through to the tail lights, and I didn't run the wire to the front to the battery, but I utilized a fuse tap and the cargo area fuse panel, 5 feet of wire versus 20 running under the car. Everything was long enough, only part of the instructions I read was what side the single green wire went to. I was going to reverse engineer it to mount the box on the passenger side close to the power, but decided I might be pushing my luck. I chose to keep the 4 pin end bundled up in the spare tire well and will feed it out the lift gate bottom/gasket when connecting to a trailer. Tested it with a small light tester and with the trailer itself, everything works, doesn't cause any issues with the vehicle's lights. Very infrequent towing of a Horrible Fright folding trailer that I upgraded to the LED lights, but I am sure this would have driven the incandescent lights as well. Might try that out if I get a cargo hauler and feel it might cover the tail lights, toss the shipped lights on it. Easy to install, like that it is inside the vehicle and not mounted outside and wires ran outside, but were I live it really wouldn't matter.

Works great.
Not really that hard to install. Took me maybe 2 hours taking my time. I'm still not sure why the vendor opposes connecting the power source wire to the extra fuse panel in the rear of a 2018 Ford Escape Titanium ! It has constant power ! Using something like the AutoEC ATO ATC 21AMP Add-A-Circuit Fuse Holder Fuse Box Tap Kit would work fine. But since they don't support that Option I ran it to the battery which was pretty simple on the Escape hiding it above the drivers skid pan . I will also say I could not get the harness end inside the CURT 58300 Vehicle-Side Trailer Wiring Harness Mounting Bracket for 4-Way Flat. I tried everything

Easy install
Ford installed there version at the dealership when first owner purchased. After we bought car used, we later found out that brake lights didn't work for towing. Purchased this unit and installed the correct way. Works perfect.

Fast "Plug & Play" Install. Under 1hr and done.
Installed by myself on my 2018 Ford Escape (SEL) Perfect!!! Install took just under 1hr with the right tools and a general idea of where to run and hide the wires. Direct Plug and Play set up with only wiring work needed was positive terminal hook up. Saved a couple hours compared to a universal wiring kit where you'd have to hunt down each wire coming off your tail light to splice into. Not to mention you'd have to alter factory wiring.. with this kit, you do not alter any factory wiring at all! All my trailer lights work perfectly when plugged into this harness. And I couldn't beat the Amazon Warehouse Pricing!!!

Perfect fit for 2017 Ford Escape Titanium
Had some issues finding a wiring harness that would fit my 2017 Ford Escape Titanium. After some research I found this product along with installation instructions on eTrailer's Youtube. It fits just as advertised! As for the product itself, I was impressed with how easy it was to install, even if it didn't come with the best instructions (just watch the video instead!). I drove over 600 miles this weekend hauling a small trailer with LED lights and had no issues. If you are looking for a trailer wiring harness for your 2017 Ford Escape Titanium, this is what you need!

Mostly good
Does NOT work with the Hopkins 48595 mounting bracket as another review mentioned. The shape is completely different. I'm mostly happy with this wiring harness for my 2017 Ford Escape Titanium. I was able to get all of it installed myself. I ran the power wire to an unused fuse in the cargo area fuse box. My only negative is that the instructions have no mention of the fact that my Escape has some sort of part in the way of where it says to mount the black box. I had to zip tie the box beneath that same metal piece.
