E-Z LOK threaded inserts for metal provide an easy to use solution for repairing or reinforcing threaded holes in metal. Ideal for use in metals like aluminum and cast iron, E-Z LOK threaded inserts are screw machined out of solid steel for greater strength and superior pull out resistance. Standard external threads permit the use of standard drills and taps for installation. Once the hole is prepared, E-Z LOKs are threaded into the hole like an ordinary fastener using a screwdriver, bolt and jam nut, or optional E-Z LOK drive tool. E-Z LOKs are self locking and will not back out or vibrate loose. A preapplied adhesive activates upon installation and bonds to virtually all metals. Fastener-ready in minutes, the adhesive seals against liquids and gases to pressures of 6,000 psi. when fully cured (72 hours).

Good product and installed easily

I gotta say I'm pretty impressed. I read some iffy reviews on heli-coils coming out, and I balked at the high price of the time-sert inserts. This seemed like a good compromise as I already own a tap and die set. I inherited a simplicity riding mower that had some issues. I had a stripped hole where the carb mounts on the engine block and wanted a solid insert due to the high vibrations. Time will tell, but I think this fits the bill. Installed easy and was able to get the carb mounted solidly. I will update my review if I have any problems.

Perfect for fixing stripped aluminum threads

The rails for my OneWheel are aluminum and the screws are notorious for stripping out the holes. I had to grind a few of these down to only 3mm tall, but they got the job done. Much more study than helicoil style inserts.

Works fine, but look out for threadlocker

Doing the job for TV VESA mount. But manually scraped out most of the thread locker, since I want the option of removing these later on. Red threadlock is not fun to deal with full-strength, esp. inside a TV with a plastic outer shell.

It works and they can be used with regular taps!

These inserts are so awesome! I was able to repair some stripped threads using my regular tap set instead of going with the expensive Timesert sets. They are much more durable and will not back out like the Helicoil type inserts.

Easy to install, Very strong. Used in Tee handle that was 1/4-20 and used insert to make 5mm. Super!

Just what I needed. I used them so I could use 1/2 inch carriage bolts for leveling my telescope. Perfect!
