E-Z LOK threaded inserts for metal provide an easy to use solution for repairing or reinforcing threaded holes in metal. Ideal for use in metals like aluminum and cast iron, E-Z LOK threaded inserts are screw machined out of solid steel for greater strength and superior pull out resistance. Standard external threads permit the use of standard drills and taps for installation. Once the hole is prepared, E-Z LOKs are threaded into the hole like an ordinary fastener using a screwdriver, bolt and jam nut, or optional E-Z LOK drive tool. E-Z LOKs are self locking and will not back out or vibrate loose. A preapplied adhesive activates upon installation and bonds to virtually all metals. Fastener-ready in minutes, the adhesive seals against liquids and gases to pressures of 6,000 psi. when fully cured (72 hours).

saved my transmission!
I bought a used transmission from the junk yard that had a couple pan bolts stripped so I needed to repair them because transmission fluid was leaking out. I started of buying a cheap helicoil repair kit on ebay and tried using that first. if you are considering buying an ebay kit yourself do yourself a favor and DON'T! what started as a simple repair turned into a nightmare when the very tool that is supposed to fix threads destroyed them even more. boy was I in a pickle because now not only were the threads screwed up but now the hole was also bigger than it should. I was running out of options! luckily in my search for solutions I came a crossed these clever and yet simple inserts. These inserts are quality and don't need any of the expensive specialty tools that other common thread repairs do. I was able to fix the destroyed threads quickly and easily with just these inserts, a screwdriver, a common drill and bits, and regular tap set. they work great! no more stripped threads and no more transmission leak! what a relief! I definitely recommend them especially if you've already tried other thread repairs that didn't work and you think it might be beyond repair.

Much better than helicoil
After having a failed helicoil installation, these are much better and where I start with next time. No special tools needed, just the right drill bit size, which I got from HF.

They worked perfectly for my application ????
This was the answer to my problem. Had a bolt break off in the crankcase on a quad. I wasn't able to get an easy out to work after drilling it and attempting unsuccessfully to back out the remaining threads. I started researching solutions and found these little beauties! I would highly recommend these.

drill size
these worked great. Had a stripped out bolt hole on the oil plate of a VW, drilled out installed this EZlock .All Good! a metric drill bit is probably your best bet , but if you only have sae bits ,an 11/32" works perfectly.
