She ain't no puppy dog
Dude...with a C6-0 booster (bottom) and a C6-7 Engine this sucker goes for it. The claim of 1600 ft is very believable. We did 3 launches with a little bit of a breeze and most certainly flew over 1000ft. Our first rocket (different model went maybe 200ft and the kids were stoked. This thing blew away all expectations. Note- this item is the complete rocket kit only, it has the shoot and all pieces to build for flight. It does not come with engines, launch pad, igniter etc. If this is your first rocket I suggest you get a beginner kit that comes with everything (minus engines) and also order the Mongoose. This will give youa good starter launch and build experience. Then go for it with the Mongoose. Definitely get the C6-0 and C6-7 engines. Pay very special attention to the instructions, there's a couple steps that can be a bit misleading: "Assemble Engine Mount (Rocket)" Step 3. Install part C 1/8" from the end. The pic in the instructions kind of leads you to believe it gets glued flush to the end. "Install Shock cord"- Make sure when you glue this inside the tube is is far enough inside that the nose cone can be inserted all the way in without hitting anything. Also make sure you wipe out all excess glue so the cone can slide in and out without issue. Try to find a nice space without trees, a slight breeze can have it landing a pretty good hike away. Super easy to build and launch. Smash your kids ipad, phone and TV, get some rockets, bikes, fishing gear, sling shot, anything man...

misleading directions
when flying this rocket. I lost it on first launch. I recommend to glue on a white piece of paper and write. If found call this number . or putting on a small dog tracker . mine probably is mile away .

A very nice and very robust rocket
This rocket is easy and quick to put together. Just right for a smaller child who wants to see the rocket fly and doesn't want to wait for paint and glue to dry. Hint, use super glue for the cardboard rings, it drys quickly and is as strong as white glue. And fly it does. We have launched our Mongoose over 40 times. We have double staged it at least 10 times. It has gotten stuck in trees twice, but we have been able to recover it both times. We cut a hole in the center of parachute so it descends quicker, but not too quick. This rocket is a performer. It will shoot out of sight with a C6 motor, only to be seen when the tracking smoke comes out. In our limited size field, we have learned it is fun to double stage with a A-8-0 first stage and a B-6-4 2nd stage. We are looking forward to taking it to a larger field this summer and trying two C class motors and seeing if we can finally lose it. Over the course of many flights, the tube has become dented and worn. The first stage always lands on the cardboard tube, so it becomes bent. But we straighten it out and relaunch yet again. Highly recommended if you want a good sized rocket that can go very high.

Good rocket not good packaging
Got this rocket and it was the last one in stock. Shipping box was perfect but rocket was bent inside. Tried straightening it and seemed to work until I put a booster in. Yup gone went up for a bit then turned and probably a mile away somewhere. Didn't even bother looking

Very unstable approach to load 2 engines
Assembly was fairly difficult, this is coming from a union steam pipe fitter that works in construction. Instructions not very good at telling what ring to use where. There are several rings to use that act like stoppers for the engines to be placed in. Since this is my first 2 stage rocket I don't know how others loose their boosters. This one you have to tape the boosters together then slide the whole Assembly into the main rocket body. So the booster part slides into the main body only about an 1/8" to 1/4" inch. Once launched the booster falls back to earth without a parachute. It was amazing how high it went. The booster hit the ground where it inserts into the engine first. So for the second attempt I felt very apprehensive because the booster didn't feel very rigid and I was worried that most of the support is now upon the tape holding the rockets together. So I haven't flown it again and don't know if I'm going to again. The pictures are of how far the booster slides into the main body of the rocket. First pic is it all the easy in the rocket and second is it pulled out to show how much it was in. Not much like 1/8" inch, so very disappointed with this rocket and its design

My son's first model
I had made a mongoose years ago, and flew it many times. The body eventually wore out from repeated ejections (explosive chute ejections do have a consequence). I bought this model for my son. It was simple for him to put together. There was little that I needed to do for him, and he had a great time building it. The purple body tube and yellow fins makes it so we do not have to paint it. It flies well, two stages are fun, and I expect my son to have years of fun with this model as well.

Good quality
Good direction

Well cool
Very quick and easy to assemble if you are experienced since instructions a bit dodgy. I did it with a five year old. Out to the garden, up in the air. Well impressed. Spent more time trying to find it than building it. Recommended
