Worked as designed

I purchased a really nice Kitchen Aid Gas Grill from Costco. It is nice but the one feature it was missing was propane gas gauge. I like to know when the fuel runs low so I can plan on replacing it. This valve worked as designed and shows me the level of fuel I have remaining. Was easy to install, and easy to read and use.

I bought 2 one works fine the other does not let the heater use all the gas don't know why and never reads full and I take my bottles to tractor supply and know how many Gal that's put in them one works fine the other well I don't know

One off issue

Bought this gauge meter. Had a propane tank in my garage for 2+ years. Plug it in and it read 1/2 tank. Fired up my propane brand new NextGrill and cooked fine. Gauge read low (1/4 full but not yellow) next day, and could not get grill to ignite. Manually ignited and could only get minimal flame with all 4 burners going. Thought I burned too much gas on previous day (about 1 hour cooking time for 12 burgers) and exchanged for even older propane tank that was 4+ years old, which weight heavier than the 2+ years old tank. Leaked gas, upon hook up so disconnect and re-install previous tank. It worked better with 4 burners going now, so I suspected gauge meter to be faulty. Still could not get flame to go full blast so disconnected gauge meter and only use grill valve. To my amazement it worked; full output for all 4 burners. Requested return which was easy. Ordered GasPro gauge meter, which feel flimsier (knob for input to propane tank and knob for output to grill felt larger than receiver connector to propane tank and gas grill but they actually fit). Overall, construction feel more substantial than GasPro, and my gauge meter might be defective, but I'm happier with GasPro. By the way, upon connecting to GasPro, meter read 2/3 full, and zero-ed out nicely when I shut propane tank valve off. Design: 5 star. Built: 5 star. Easy of use: 5 star. Accuracy/function: 3 star (probably faulty sample) Ease of return: 5 star (though amazon not through manufacturer).

My honest opinion is the best gauges that I've seen are the temperature strips that go on the side of the tank. If you can get the adhesive to work, they work great. Propane is generally cooler than the rest of the tank so the level is indicated that way. It is a hassle on an RV if you have to take the covers off of the propane tanks to in order to read the level. THESE DO NOT DETECT LEAKS. I knew that but I see the description says it does These gauges will stay in the green until your damn near empty. We were camping a couple weeks ago and it was still well in the green, but the frost on the tank showed about 3 inches left in the 30 lb tank. That ain't much. I would rather this thing register empty sooner than later. Cheap and easy, it's the same as every other gauge out there that looks like this. It just measures the pressure of the cylinder. Is it worth purchasing? Yes. Are you going to run out of propane one day when this thing just showed that it had a lot in it? Yes.

Did not work!

I installed this on a tank that had a built-in gauge, and was noticing that while the built-in gauge was slowly going down, this one was not. The final proof was when the burners no longer lit, the built-in showed near zero, and this faulty one was still half way in the 'green' , which is above 'yellow', and well above 'red'...!! Total waster of $$

Plain useless

Just before I started the BBQ, the gauge was still in the green, not even yellow... 5 minutes of pre heating later, the tank is empty, the BBQ is off and the gauge is red. I can't even return it, took me 10 days too long to empty one 20lbs tank....

This gauge is VERY INCONSISTANT.

Went to BQ last night and the gauge showed in the green, which should mean lots of propane left in the tank, WRONG!. Went to check the temperature 45 minuets later and the burners were out as the tank was empty (And they were on low.) If I could return this gauge I would, but too late now.

Doesn't work

I have been using my tank since late last August and all summer so far. It feels almost empty. I installed this "gauge" (I use the term very loosely) and it says that is is full. The needle is at the top of the green and that is not correct. Damn waste of money.
