Wish I would have done this sooner! Perfect Doggie Door!
***note first: Buy it in the spring so you can leave the flaps open to train your dog. This is a great doggie door. I was scared to tackle the job of putting it in, but it was actually very easy. I love everything about this door. I have small dogs, but I got the 100 lb size just in case we ever got a bigger dog. Installation was easy, and the flaps work perfectly. It's cold right now and because of the magnets, the cold really isn't coming in. You have to train them how to go in and out, because they will have nothing to do with it. This is how I trained them: I taped both flaps up with duck tape. Used incentives to show them there was a hole they could come through. At first they wanted nothing to do with it. Just keep trying, and keep the flaps up. About a week later, I let the dogs out and closed the door. I noticed one used the doggie door to come back in. I left the flaps open for a month so they could get use to it. They actually started using it all the time. (for those of you who worry about bugs, I put a bug zapper on a stool right by the hole, inside) I finally put down one flap, and took the magnet off the bottom (it slides in and out). Again, you have to use incentives to let them know they can push it. Eventually they were going in and out with the one flap. We eventually put the other flap down (with the magnet). They were going in and out. We now have both magnets on both doors, and they use it beautifully. Love this door. If you were thinking about getting one, just do it!

Works great.
Was very easy to install. This is second one we’ve bought and installed. First one was small one and we used it for nearly 10 yrs. New pup is bigger bread and we had to upgrade when he out grew small one. He loves it. Is I. And out all the time. Flap is pretty airtight and definitely waterproof we have never had water pool in floor.

Nice dog door...but fragile.
The door installed and worked great for about 1 yr. Then after going through summer and winter the flaps warped, the exterior magnet base broke off and the interior door slide broke. Just this winter the outer flap cracked at the upper hinge and broke off.

Dogs can potty themselves now!
Install was easy. We ordered an extra weatherproofing kit but did not end up needing it. My dogs ( pittie and staffy) use it all the time. Works great as intended.

Very expensive looking
It’s actually way nicer than I expected it to be considering it was the cheapest (still not cheap but the cheapest I could find) out of other doggy doors that large. Easy to assemble and the installation packet was very easy to read maybe a little bit confusing to understand but I did my best!

Great Dog Door
We had a defect and had ordered 5 of these doors. They are decent doors. We have Labradors and they are active in/out all the time. I called the manufacturer with our door problems and the best customer service I’ve had yet on Amazon or Walmart etc so I recommend the company because you don’t have to fight or beg for respectful service. Thanks ???? I appreciate that

If you’re putting it through a wall, get the extender as well
Easy to install, once the dogs got used to it they’re in and out of it whenever they need. Comes with an easy to use shutter to close it off.

Take care with linked listing
Love the product but beware misleading Amazon listing. The white wall entry door is not the Aluminium version in the taupe photo Despite charging the inflated metal version price, the white model delivered is plastic

Beware Cold Weather
The exterior door broke after less than a year. The interior door is broken after 16 months. I can only image that most of the highly rated reviews are from users who recently purchased the door. In fact, if I had rated the door shortly after I purchased it I would have given it a high rating too. Installation was fine and the double door works well against the weather. However, one of the reasons I don't rate products immediately are so that I can determine how well they last. And this door seems to have a design flaw that will cause it to fail and break. Like many others I owned a previous PetSafe door, with a complete metal frame and it lasted more than 15 years, with flap replacements. However, this version of the door has a plastic frame on which the flaps are connected where older versions are all metal. Over the time the repeated stress of the flaps moving back and forth has caused the plastic portion of the frame holding the flap on to become weak, brittle, and snap off. Have a look at the included photos, they show the damage better than I can describe. I fail to see how this cannot be a design flaw. I suspect there is a reason the warranty is for one year. Cold Climate customers be careful for hidden limitations. I've been in contact with PetSafe to see if there is any warranty on the door and it has been stated that "our doors can become brittle and more prone to breakage when the temperature falls below -10 degrees Fahrenheit" and "Damage due to cold temperatures is not considered an issue that would be covered by the warranty." So if you need to use the doors in cold temperatures I would look elsewhere. And based on the conversation I had with PetSafe, they will probably look for any excuse to make a warranty claim invalid.

Broke within weeks of installation
I bought a large door and have two labradors. They broke the plastic holding the flap within weeks of installation, just by going in and out. This is NOT durable at all, even with regular use. My previous door from a different brand survived 6 years. This is terrible quality. I am actively getting a refund and buying a similar door from a different brand, except with a steel frame.

Cheap junk! Do don’t buy!
First of all the description says aluminum frame, it is all plastic. I needed a dog door right away so I used it anyways, hoping it would hold up. The new door design with the magnets is garbage. They slide off after a little bit of chewing on the corner flap. Then your dog will eat the magnet, not good. Shortly after 2 weeks the door broke off the cheap plastic frame. Only held on by 1/16” of plastic! Really!! Now in the process of returning to amazon, hoping for a refund. Let me say though,I had the old classic door design with the real aluminum frame and it held up for 5 years with 2 dogs and the magnets were riveted on so your dog can’t get them off.
