NOT a bag - it is a flat sheet

The fabric is thicker/heavier than I expected. However - it is NOT a bag with a drawstring at the bottom as expected. It is a flat sheet with ties on the side, and a drawstring at the top AND bottom. It is sort of awkward, but it works acceptably. Otherwise, the quality is decent and it is definitely thicker than the typical frost blanket. It comes with 3 'safety pin' style closures, but no grommets or anything to hook them through, so I suppose you are supposed to put them directly through the fabric, which would surely not be good for its longevity.

Order larger than you think you need!

These Plumstone size large "shrub jackets" are supposed to cover a shrub up to 4 1/2 feet in diameter, however they just barely surround my 3 foot diameter shrub! Order larger than you think you need! Other than the size problem, I like the look of these "jackets" and hope they will hold-up well enough to be used for many years. Spring 2013 update: They survived the first season of use with "flying colors"!! No deer damage to my shrubs and the covers did not need any adjustment during the winter. The covers look like they will last for many years. I'm very pleased with this purchase. 2014 update: These covers are totally shredded after only 2 seasons of use. They looked really great initially and did a good job initially, however the fabric (is it cloth or paper??!!!!?) is now like shredded tissue paper and completely disintegrated!!! Unusable after 2 seasons-----rather expensive lesson!

Waiting til spring to finalize my opinion

I had a huge fern over the summer and it actually survived. So when winter came - I tried to bring it inside to protect it, but it kept shedding and making a mess. When I found this shrub jacket, I immediately ordered it. So far - it looks as if it is protecting my fern just fine, but I reserve final judgement until Spring..

Not happy

Again, the plant was carefully measured but this one fit even less well that the medium one did on my other plant. These might work on skinny tall plants but we could not get it around the plant that it was purchased to go around.

Purchased to protect a baby fig tree and crepe myrtle. Easy to install and working well so far.
