Works
I had problems getting clamps off my heater core. These made it possible.

Low Quality but Works
The little clip that holds the "fork" looking end broke after second use so I took a small pin and bent it around the groove to hold it in place. It has worked fine since but neither end were very secure and quite loose. Because of the play, the tool has a hard time gripping smaller constant tension clips. Also, this tool is really only suited for the clips that have a tab on one side and loop on the other. For the ones with a tab on one side and two tabs on the other (not a closed loop), a normal pliers works better. This was also my first time using such a tool. With no instructions on orientation guide I kind of had to figure out how they work and I'm still not clear if I'm using them correctly.

Great find for the money.
I used to only have the remote, cable operated version of these (from Astro). After that unit broke on me, I decided to try a different brand remote operated and also bought this tool. I have 3 VWs, so I deal with a lot of constant tensions clamps. These make them really easy to remove and install, even compared to the more expensive Astro remote operated ones I had before. Actually for clamps that easily accessible, I would highly recommend these. The cable operated ones are still a must for tight spots, where the clamps are left in a weird angle, but otherwise, I have only been using these. Seem to be of good quality. The locking mechanism seems slightly chintzy, but has worked well so far. Only negative is that the heads rotate a little easily, I think a properly sized o-ring should fix that.

Works well
These work well for the smaller spring clamps. The larger ones require a hand stretch...my curse for having smallish hands so this tool is a two hand deal on the larger clamps. The ratchet stops are good but on the smaller click-stop, it doesn't match exactly but close enough for the clamps I was working with. The head does manage to fit most clamps but on some the fit isn't as secure. I see there are others with different jaw options but since this is my first and only clamp plier hard to say if a different type of plier is better. They work and I was able to do what was needed for this service interval. Quality was good, not raving but relative to price. Glad I bought them. :)

Useful and Good Value
Bought these for cooling system project on my MK2 GTI, the reviews were quite good. These helped immensely with all the constant tension hose clamps during tear-down and reassembly. Its worth getting a pair of these, it'll save time and frustration vs. using channel-locks or regular pliers. Plus these give you better clearance in tight areas. These also seem to be sturdy, aside from the cups getting marred from the constant use. Still an extremely useful tool, especially considering price (although if you have a later-model car with even tighter access, you may want a "long-reach" flexible pair).

Hmm, Operator Error ?
Okay, I admit it. This is quite probably a fine product. I, however, came to D-I-Y, and tools in general, rather late in life. There's undoubtedly some secret to using this device; I, sadly, haven't a clue. Seems well made, as in trued alignment and a fair grade of steel. So, if YOU know what you're doing, that's probably all you need to "hear." I, at best, am batting about .333 with it ... which isn't nearly good enough. I could write a fairly lively & lengthy mathematical treatise on the remarkable scope vector trajectories of the various errant clamp ejecta, however, I digress. My Klein electricians work far better for me. I'll probably try Knipex's offering before throwing in the towel.

These are great for constant tension clamps!
These grip the clamp securely and lock it in the open position for easy removal and reinstallation.

Quick and easy with this tool.
this tool is a must have if you encounter constant tension clamps. Just put the tool on the clamp, squeeze...and it's off. No more fooling around with several different pliers. If you say you can do it just as easy and quickly with any type of plier, you have never used this tool.
