This Anderson Metals garden hose connector is made of brass and connects GHT threaded hose to an NPT threaded connection in a straight run. This coupling has female garden hose threads (GHT) for connecting to a male GHT connector on one end and female NPT threads on the other end to connect to a male NPT threaded connection for a tighter seal than straight threads. This connector is made of brass for corrosion resistance, ductility at high temperatures, and low magnetic permeability. Sent wrong fitting - but maybe you can hack it.

The item I ordered was specifically 3/4" Female Hose to 3/4" Female Pipe, that's GHT to NPT. Hard to find - hose to hose is much more common, and that's what they sent. So it inevitably leaks at the pipe end, because hose threads don't seal to pipe threads. Why I ordered GHT to NPT, right? However, it has an internal ridge or shoulder, so you can put a rubber hose gasket in the pipe side and maybe get it to seal. Worked for me, so I won't return it, but pretty careless and irritating.

When a swivel connector doesn't get it...

This was purchased for the purpose of installing a water filter on the incoming line to my motorhome. I first tried one with a swivel connector, but that leaked at the swivel. I did not really need a swivel there since I was using a quick-disconnect hose fitting, so this eliminated the problem. To complete the picture, a pipe nipple was attached to the Culligan filter housing, this fitting added to the pipe nipple, then the quick-disconnect hose fitting. A flat garden hose washer works best with this.

leaks, always leaks + be careful end of the hose has a hose clamp that will scratch you

I thought I could save my hose by replacing the end fitting that had gotten smashed and would not seal. Installed this device - I never get it to stop leaking. Tightening the hose clamp wouldn't do it. The hose clamp has extra metal sticking out that would scratch you if you didn't handle the hose carefully. Eventually took it off threw the hose away and bought a new hose.

Most of the female hose fittings have a slip joint ...

Most of the female hose fittings have a slip joint so you can screw them on (standard hose convention). In some cases those slip joints leak because it's a weak point. If you don't need to turn the female hose side while the NPT side doesn't turn, then be sure to use this.

Nice brass shower hose to garden hose adapter

Excellent for connect a garden hose with a shower hose. No leaks, decent thinkness brass. quality threads. works with multiple o-rings and no leaks. very useful if you need it then you should probably buy it now!
