CURT class 1 ball mounts are designed for a variety of lightweight towing applications. For basic utility trailers, canoe haulers and other light-duty trailers, a class 1 ball mount gets the job done. CURT class 1 ball mounts are designed to complement our class 1 trailer hitches and come in several different styles, offering a range of shank lengths and drop and rise options. A class 1 ball mount is typically used on compact cars, full-size cars, minivans and crossover SUVs, but it can be used on virtually any trailer hitch with a 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" receiver tube (NOTE: Never exceed the lowest weight capacity of any towing component; i.e. the vehicle, hitch, trailer, etc). This class 1 ball mount features a gross trailer weight capacity of 2,000 lbs. and a tongue weight capacity of 200 lbs. It has a length of 6-3/4", a drop of 1-1/4" and a rise of 5/8". CURT ball mounts, like our trailer hitches, are built to last. They are made from quality steel that is CNC-formed and robotically welded to be an exact fit for your receiver hitch. To protect our class 1 ball mounts from corrosion, UV damage and scratches, we coat each one in a powder coat of high-gloss black for a sharp finish.

EASY TO INSTALL. To install this class 1 hitch ball mount on your vehicle, simply insert the shank into your vehicle's 1-1/4-inch hitch receiver. The rounded shank makes installation easy. Then, secure the shank with a hitch pin (sold separately). CORROSION-RESISTANT. For long-lasting use, this ball hitch is protected with a durable black powder coat finish, easily resisting damage from rain, dirt, snow, road salt and other corrosive threats. READY TO TOW. Hitching up your trailer is easy with this 1-1/4 ball mount. It features a 3/4-inch hole to accept a trailer hitch ball with a 3/4-inch diameter shank (trailer ball sold separately). VERSATILE USE. This trailer hitch ball mount comes with a 1-1/4-inch x 1-1/4-inch shank to fit virtually any industry-standard 1-1/4-inch receiver. The ball mount also has a 1-1/4-inch drop and 5/8-inch rise to promote level towing. DEPENDABLE STRENGTH. This ball hitch is constructed from high-strength steel and is rated to tow up to 2,000 pounds gross trailer weight and 200 pounds tongue weight (limited to lowest-rated towing component).

Paint makes it not fit in the receiver
As many others have said, the manufacturer did not use dimensionless paint on the finish, and the super thick paint it has makes the hitch not fit in a 1-1/4 receiver. you will need to do some sanding on the paint to get a good fit. i took off quite a bit of paint to get it to fit, and it still didn't expose any metal. there must be at least 1/8 inch of paint. its kind of crazy. the weld is a bit sloppy too, but it looks solid enough. lots of spatter and dingleberries (which is also coated in thick paint) so you may want to grind those off. the paint looks like pretty sturdy enamel paint. you get what you pay for though, its a cheap hitch with no frills. i will add that the metal coupon that has the ball hitch's hole is SUPER thick. i didn't notice it from the picture before i bought it, but its probably twice as thick as any other hitch i've ever seen. its so thick in fact, that i can't use it as a pin hitch receiver at all

Very sturdy and works perfectly
I got this for my bike rack on the back of my travel trailer. It has the 1.25" receiver, and I just bolted the rack to the mount for easy on/off. For my purposes, it works great.

Strong, well built but most of all, hollow which allows me to use the Curt Anti-Rattle kit for the bike rack!
I bought a CURT Class-II hitch for my wife's car as we needed something to haul our bikes. I had originally ordered a Curt Class-II mount for the this purpose. Big mistake. Well, maybe just an ordinary mistake. As far as I can tell, most Class-II mounts are solid and tend to fit loosely into the hitch. This causes the bikes on the rack to severely yaw back and forth like a pendulum. I would have sworn they were going to rip something off, safety strap be dammed. Easy fix? Yep! I picked up this Class-I mount (hollow) along with the Curt 2315 Anti-Rattle kit which comes with a nut on a sleeve that goes into the mount and then a threaded bold to tighten the mount to the hitch. Rock solid and zero yaw. It's now as solid as it was on my old Explorer's bumper mount. Would recommend, even for normal Class-I towing. ;-)

needed persuasion
Item seems well built. Installed on 2004 Jeep Wrangler with Mopar class 1 receiver. The pin hole was not quite lining up. A 5 lb hammer was needed to get it back far enough to get the pin in. It does work.

Nice solid construction!
I should have gotten one with more drop but that' on me for not measuring better before I bought it. I bought a Curt 45027 (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003AT8G3G/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) to replace it. but the pin holes on that one were off center and could only be installed in the rise position, and I needed it for drop so I can't use it. Luckily I have this one, and since it is a small single axle trailer, the slight amount of extra tongue rise won't give me any trouble.

Nice hitch for gator
The paint was a little to thick to slide in. We just scraped off the paint and it was a perfect fit for the Gator front end. Just need to remember it's there so we don't keep walking into it. Nice and heavy should be able to get out of any situation we get ourselves into.

Great Bang for your Buck
This hitch is definitely a great deal for your buck and pretty thick for the price too. I would definitely recommend it to others.

TOO BIG / WON'T FIT
It did not fit in my Reese hitch receiver. I had to grind it down and repaint it.
