This cane holder is used for hanging or wedging a cane, and is a small, plastic fitting that mounts on the cane to hold it on a table edge when not in use. The holder snaps onto the cane, and slides up or down to contact the top or bottom of the table, and is versatile for using in pairs to contact both table top and bottom. A small rubber band can be placed around the end hooks for maintaining a better grip on the cane shaft. The holder measures 8.5 x 4.0 x 1.0 inches (L x W x H). (L is length, the horizontal distance from left to right; W is width, the horizontal distance from front to back; H is height, the vertical distance from the lowest to highest point.) Spend Most Of Your Time Worrying About It Falling
'Barely' worked. Surprisingly (to me anyway), every table/desk I tested this on had a beveled edge. This product does not do well with beveled edges because this product has to reach so far to get past the beveled part to get to the actual 'top' of the table that only a very small part of this product is actually touching the top of the table. So this makes the cane swing very far under the table, which means the cane is at about a 45 degree angle, which means that this product is at about a 45 degree angle and therefore VERY close to slipping off the table. My dad and I had to place it absolutely perfectly on the table so there would be no swinging at all when we let go, otherwise it would slide off. And even when it didn't slide off, it sure acted like it was ready to slide off at any minute. The material wasn't a grippy, rubber type material like would be expected either. It was actually fairly smooth (which increases slipperiness). This was very surprising. There were two of these slats included in the package and they suggested trying one slat above the table and one below, that was supposed to hold it a bit tighter by kind of gripping the table. Well two problems with that... 1) Different tables have different thicknesses so you'd have to adjust one of the slats when you sit at different tables, and 2) When I tried this, it didn't help. If the slats were a bit longer, or they put rubber grippers under the slats, or it was made out of a rubber-like material, it'd probably work better. But my experience was that my dad would spend more time worrying about it falling on the floor than he would spend finding a place to prop his cane up in the first place. Can not recommend it.

There are two in the package.
I bought two because the description says "The holder" (singular) and the reviews say you need a pair. There are two in the package so now I am stuck with an extra pair. I will update the review after I see how they work.

Tabling your Cane
This product works fairly well; however, you really need TWO! You leave space between the two--as shown on the product page; this clamps between the top and bottom layer of a table & is adjustable as to thickness.

Good for those who use a cane or walking stick.
Works just like the advertisement. I tried using a single rubber piece, and it worked okay most of the time. With two in place you get a lot better grip. I also use an aluminum walking stick that I purchased years ago when I would go hiking a lot. This piece has actually been very helpful for me on a hiking trail. I can put the walking stick on a nearby tree branch of other "flat" surface to keep from laying my instrument on the ground.

Doesn't work
One half of it will often hold a cane on a counter if the flat side of it is down.

Does not work
Does not work. Too short to put around a table and actually hold the cane immobile.
