HOW IT WORKS: Polyrope is an excellent high-visibility choice for an electric fence line. Stronger than polywire, polyrope features stainless-steel strands woven through the rope. The steel strands ensure that maximum electrical energy is carried through the fence line at all times. Use a splicer to maintain a good connection. TECHNOLOGY The polyrope contains six strands of electrical conductors. Conductors create a mild shock when animals come into contact with them, which makes the polyrope an effective choice for keeping animals contained in a designated area. Even more, the polyrope won't rust, and it's easy to install and rewind. SIMPLE SETUP Step 1: Clear the area of grass and weeds that may touch the wire or tape and cause electrical shorts. Connect the energizer to the polyrope using the connector. Step 2: Maintain adequate permanent-boundary fencing. Step 3: Remove all vegetation from the electric fence line. Step 4: Do not allow the electric fence to be loaded with snow as it may break the wire or rope. Step 5: Check the electric fence on a regular basis with a volt meter made for electric fencing. Step 6: Check all electric fence components on a regular basis to ensure that they are working properly. Durable. Easy to install.

Love the rope wire. I have had this up for 4 years now. Still conducts electric like it was new. It has darkened over the years so not quite as visible, but still very adequate. The deer don't take this fence down, either, like the do the wire. Very pleased with this product.

Fragile Spool

The braided electro wire works as it should, no issues. My complaint is with the cheap spools that are used to coil the rope onto. When running the fence line, it is typical to put a rod through the middle to un-spool the rope. I had 3 of the spools break apart while running wire resulting in a frustrating yardsale of braided rope which will typically result in un-tying knots and re-spooling for a few hours. Be EXTRA cautious of the spools when running this fence.

Good product, lousy packaging

These are not wrapped on a solid spool. It is two end caps pushed into a cardboard tube. One had came apart in shipping and the end started to unravel in the box. Managed to get that one unrolled after a bit of headache. Second one seemed solid. Was using a solid dowel horizontal on the back of the four wheeler, slowly, just like we do with barb wire. Made it about a hundred feet and the spool fell apart completely. Ended up having to unroll the rest of the spool(knot) by hand. No impressed. Get a piece of all thread and some nuts so you can clamp the sides to the tube save it should work fine.

Beware, the reel will break easily

I purchased two of these after installing several other brown Field Guardian polyropes because I wanted two strands that were visible. While removing the first spool from the box, the reel broke and became a tangled mess. I tried to be careful with the 2nd one but during installation, the reel broke anyway. What a waste of my time! Additionally, all the ropes I purchased advertise that they are 656 ft but the Zareba brand was at least 20’ shorter than the others, which meant that I needed to purchase another spool but I decided to pay a little more for a brand that I knew uses a durable reel.

Durable, conductive, visible, safe, economical!

In 2006, we installed 4000 linear feet (x3 strands) of electric tape fence for our horse farm here in Maine. After just two years with the electric tape we found ourselves needing to replace most of it because of breakage and loss of charge. In searching for a cost-effective replacement that would be safe for horses, we landed on Zareba poly rope. We replaced all of the tape with three strands of poly rope for less than half of what the tape had cost! It is now 2018, the fencing has been in place for 10 years and is still in great shape! The horses respect it, it is very visible to them, and is so easy to install, move, and reuse. We have liked it so much that we have bought more to install on t-posts with the T-360 insulators so we can move our horses with us to our new home next month!

More sturdy than tape

This was very simple to string up and it’s a good thickness. I plan to have metal fencing up in a few years, but this is good temporary fencing in the meantime for our two horses. It’s been through about a dozen rain storms so far and weathered very well. Rolls out smoothly and doesn’t tangle like the electric tape. I feel it’s more secure than the tape and more visible.

Not happy with this rope at all

I bought 4 rolls installed today. The first rope line at 570 miles was cut off and sealed not even connected. At about 500 there was a damage of the rope without connection. This one just in the first roll. Of course I cant request a return since already installed and do not want to go back doing the job so just did some bridges connecting the broken parts. The wires are too thin and I used better brand with stronger wires. The second roll during the process of installation broke in two parts so not able to stand the rope and lot of time waste. Hope this material will last at least couple years since not very elastic and very hard to work with.

Perfect!

First I ordered 2 rolls of another brand of 9 strand fencing wire..assuming it would be fairly thick rope....WRONG !! it was way too thin..Was going to maybe double it but I then found this Zareba polyrope read the reviews and gave it a try......Its about 1/4 inch round...fits into the black, white and yellow screw in connectors on step ins...and into the yellow wooden post connectors no problem..Its nice and visible to the horses and deer..I can see it from the house too......Not sure how strong the zap is.. or how long it will last,.but I felt it...and my horse stayed in last night !!! My only complaint is Not being able to buy the 2 Roll deal and get it now.(.Why do we need to wait until Dec for delivery).... Having to buy it by the single roll is expensive.!! Times are tuff.
