TotalBoat Wood Honey food-safe wood finish puts a gorgeous satin oil finish on bare or new interior wood surfaces quickly and easily. Its non-toxic blend of oil and wax enhances the wood grain on all types of bare wood. Wood Honey is ideal for all the unique items made by DIY woodworkers, woodturners and makers, like wooden salad bowls, cutting boards, charcuterie boards, a butcher block table top, and even wooden toys. Whether the piece was just turned on a lathe or it’s an antique wood bowl that’s seen years of use, you’ll see the wood grain come to life as soon as you apply the first coat. Apply two coats for maximum protection, water resistance and stain resistance. This easy-to-use penetrating wood oil goes on in seconds. Just wipe it on, let it soak in for about 10-20 minutes, then wipe off with a clean rag. Right away, you’ll see the wood grain pop and the wood tone become richer. A second coat makes the grain even more pronounced. If the wood grain is slightly raised after the first application, wait 3-5 days for the oil finish to dry, then sand lightly in the direction of the grain, with 320-400 grit sandpaper. Remove residue with a clean cloth, and apply another coat. To help ensure the surface stays beautiful, apply an occasional maintenance coat. Compare to other non-toxic satin wood finishes including Odies Oil, Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C Pure, Walrus Oil, Boos Block Mystery Oil, Howard Cutting Board Oil, Clark’s Cutting Board Oil, Mevell Oil, Tried and True Original Wood Finish, Osmo Top Oil and Mahoney’s Oil Wax Finish. 100% made in the USA. NOTE: This product may impart a slight amber color on white or clear surfaces; test first to ensure desired finish. Wood Honey doesn't contain any nut oils, but we can not guarantee from the manufacturer that it has not been processed in a facility that does not also process other potential allergens. The wax material is proprietary, but doesn't contain wax from soy, bees, or paraffin.

Great product, fiddly container
Like the product, but didn't really like the container, it didn't help dispense the fluid, in fact the funny shape made things messy. That's my only complaint.

Once again — very impressed with Total Boat
This product is easier to use then furniture polish, but if you really want to get your bang for your buck here’s some things I noticed. 1) Finer sanded wood has an extremely better finish and is well worth the extra prep work to really allow this product to shine. 220 grit minim. 2) Dedicate one rag to this product so you can reapply 2nd or 3rd coats. First coat really soaks in no matter how heavy you wipe it. 3) Estimated dry time seems extremely off… Even after 2nd coat I feel like you could put stuff on a wooden countertop within an hour and be fine. Total boat has some crazy thing like 48 hours. 4) FYI — Viscosity is thicker than orange oil/lemon oil; but, thinner than honey…almost like cooking oil thickness. 5) If you have a lot of surface area get the big bottle. It’s worth having extra so you can lay it on thick and do additional coats 6) After 2nd coat this product makes wood feel “softer” to the touch… very good unexpected effect. I did my whole dining room table after I found this out. This product was applied three times to a floating vanity face (Tennessee Walnut sanded to 600 grit). This product was applied three time to a pantry countertop (Tennessee western cedar sanded to 220 grit). In all, I highly recommend this product for its stated used. I would deduct 1/2 star for the packaging…total boat used a black sharpie to put eyes on the bear bottle. Pretty ghetto considering total boats boujee product line, but at least the product performs.

great value
Used this on a salad bowl purchased overseas that was raw wood, Needed a product safe for food use. This did the trick, was easy to use and did not change the original color of the wood.

This finish is perfect except for ONE thing
I bought this finish to re-finish an IKEA butcher block counter. Took very easily to the walnut (what I assume is probably just veneer), few light coats is all you need. One coat will bring the life back, each subsequent coat will add a little more vibrancy. You'll probably need at most 3 light coats of this stuff, and this bottle will last you a long time, depending on how big your projects are. The ONE thing that really ruins this product for me... I kept the bottle on my kitchen counter for a few days, and every single time I passed by, I thought it was orange juice. You just don't understand the strange feeling of temptation to wanting to drink this (please don't drink this). I started off that last paragraph as a joke, but now I think it's important to mention to keep this out of reach and/or sight of children who would make the same mistake lol

Packaging
So far I’m pleased with the product; BUT, the packaging is problematic. This is packaged in a plastic container that looks very much like the squeezable honey bear that many of us have in our homes. My wife even asked me why I bought another bottle of honey. WARNING: be very careful if you have children in the house or even adults—mark the bottle so there’s no question that this is not a food product.

Works well
It does a good job of finishing cutting boards, etc. Not sure why 2 small bottles is cheaper than one large bottle.
